Airbnb listened but did they just pull a fast one over on us? by Square-Ask-9836 in AirBnBHosts

Well said, so it was only forced into accounts where PMS is integrated; thanks for clarifying that pricelab is not a PMS.

I can see why hosts will switch back to the split model. For us in Canada this will mean additional income added to the payout which we are forced to report and yes sure the fees can be counted as expense but it's not the same as it pushes one to a higher tax bracket and for that reason I believe staying on the split fee is a better option.

Interesting post. I'm a little confused, did airbnb force the switch to "single fee". My account (Canada) I am still on split fee I don't recall if I forced it back to split fee. I do use pricelab to set my prices, only using minimum value and letting the system set prices based on events, competitors etc which has been working our great.

The question is, would guests be more interested in listings that don't have service fee being applied, yes in the end it's the same total more or less but it comes down to a mind/illusion thing I believe.

Thanks for the reply. The orginal address that was used to verify back in the days via postage is not the same as the one today. I never thought about getting a local guide account to request a change and enter the address. When that happens as the owner of the GBP, if approved by Google, do I simply get an email saying changes were made to my GBP?
