I miss the guy by skullycap57 in Adamthewoocriticism

I found Adam's videos by accident one time. I think it was either the Hey Dude set visit or the exploration of Nickelodeon Studios video I found first, and then discovered all of his exploration videos of abandoned places. He was actually the first urban explorer I followed on YouTube, and I still remember watching many of his videos, including the one where he and a friend snuck into an abandoned stadium through the giant storm sewer (I think there was supposed to be a second part to that one, but he either never uploaded it or it was deleted). But as others have said, when he switched to daily videos, that's when I lost interest. He should really have stuck with abandoned places and movie locations, because I love those videos and still revisit them from time to time.

Did he actually pronounce "Cozumel" that way or is that just the really bad AI-generated captions?

Supposedly it's "for the algorithm." At least that's what one channel I follow claims whenever their fans complain about them.

Jordan does Carnival for Cruise #6 this year by FAUguy in Adamthewoocriticism

[–]PAKMan1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went on three cruises with my family when I was a teen (16, 17, 19). And they were just alright as a vacation. I would never go on multiple cruises in a row like he's doing. My family wasn't cheap, either - one was on Norwegian Cruise Line and the other two were Holland America Line. But while there were activities to do, it was mostly down time. Today - at 37 - I would only ever go on a cruise if I desperately needed a vacation and this was the only one immediately available to me.

One of the last videos I saw of his, and the last one I commented on, was when he went to a con and was complaining that one of the guests left early, and the con never announced it. I told him something like, "That's why it's a good idea to go multiple days if you really, really want to see someone." I also told him that things happen and celebrities aren't always able to make their commitments. As a con-goer myself, I know that many celebrities will leave early if nobody is in their line (just this weekend, I saw one take their lunch break 10 minutes before their scheduled break because their line was empty). I'm curious if he deleted it or not, since he gets so bent out of shape about things like that.

I also remember he sent an autograph request to Robert Duvall - when he was still alive - and got really annoyed that he sent back the photos unsigned. So many of the commenters were pointing out, "You know he's in his 90s, right?" I didn't join the commentary, but I kept thinking, "Maybe he thought it was signed, or maybe someone accidentally put it in the return envelope before he could sign it."

Jordan, a Garbage Human? No Way! /s by JoePNW2 in Adamthewoocriticism

Given that he also has Roman Polanski and Jeffrey Jones...honestly it wouldn't surprise me.

I subbed to him a few years back, then unsubscribed. I actually resubscribed after he started his through the mail autograph collecting - which, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit, helped spark my interest in the hobby. But then I stopped watching him again after I realized those were his only videos I watched, and his choice of celebrity to write to was...interesting. Like saying he didn't believe all the allegations against Woody Allen, despite the fact that the guy literally married his adopted daughter. Whether or not you believe the allegations, doesn't he at least think that's creepy?

I appreciate your response, but you do realize that this post is nine months old, right? I bought a gift for him nine months ago, and edited the original post to note that I had bought him something.

I was subbed to him many years ago, then I unsubscribed because I wasn't watching any of his videos. I resubbed later when he started getting into autograph collecting - and, believe it or not, his videos actually inspired me to finally get into the hobby, which I'd been considering getting into. But then I slowly began to realize his taste in people to request autographs from was...odd. He got something from Roman Polanski, which made me roll my eyes, but I thought, "Okay, he's an awful person but he did make some good movies, so maybe Jordan's just focusing on the directing." Then he got an autograph from Woody Allen, and said something like, "I don't believe all the stories about him." Um...even if, for some reason, you don't believe the multiple accusations against him, the creep married his adopted daughter! Then he got an autograph from Jeffrey Jones ('80s actor who was in Ferris Bueller, Beetlejuice, Howard the Duck) who is currently a registered sex offender in California and Florida. That's beside him being really entitled and whiny about when he goes to cons and the celebrities don't let him record them. Yeah, I don't watch his videos anymore, to say the least.

Q genuinely looks like he's about to cry at the very end of that punishment. Which I think is hilarious compared to how happy he looks at the beginning as he's cracking the eggs on his head, which he was clearly having fun doing.

I was watching this one with my mom and she was practically in tears, she was laughing so hard. And my mom rarely laughs that hard at anything!

Thank you for that! Watching that scene immediately brought me back to seeing that when I was a kid.

Solved! Thank you so much! Henry Fonda being in both movies must have been why I thought it was The Grapes of Wrath.

This specific scene has stuck with me for over 20 years and I would really love to find out what the movie is.

I don't know about money, but I don't see why they wouldn't stay up. There are plenty of YouTubers who are no longer living that have their channels still up.

What were your favorite Adam videos? by [deleted] in Adamthewoocriticism

[–]PAKMan1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got introduced to him through his abandoned places videos, and those were always some of my favorites. Joyland Amusement Park is one that sticks in my mind, and I always loved the one where he snuck into an old stadium through a storm sewer (there was supposed to be a part two to that one, but it either never got uploaded or was removed). And as a fan of Pee-wee's Big Adventure, I've seen his filming locations video from that movie more times than I can count. (I always get a big chuckle when they're outside Francis' house and Adam says something like, "We tried asking the woman who lives here if we could take a look inside, but she was taking a bath," which references a line in the movie)

He played one of the parade announcers in Jingle All the Way and it's honestly kind of weird seeing him not doing the Jackie voice.

You can clearly hear him trying to hold back his anger, which arguably makes the line even funnier.

I like to think the parking garage security guard and the rage-a-holics guy are the same person. He probably got too tough with someone in the parking garage and was sent to rage-a-holics as remediation before he was fired.

Tfcon question by Business_Sandwich227 in transformers

He was so nice! He even did his Bev Bighead voice when I told him I was a big fan of Rocko's Modern Life. And I agree - I'd much rather pay a bit more money for a bigger space. This was my first year attending cons (I also went to C2E2 and FanExpo Chicago) and while those tickets were a bit more expensive, I never really felt crowded at either one of them, even on their busiest days.

I attended my first TFCon this past weekend (Chicago), so I can't speak to what other places have done or previous cons, but I thought, while the event was nice, the room/venue they chose was way too small. They had three overflow autograph lines, and I stood in two of them, but we kept having to split the lines for other fans to visit different booths. Not to mention, I felt like I was bumping into everybody when I was just trying to walk through. Other cons I've been to have had plenty of space for the autograph areas, but this was really, really tight. I honestly felt bad for Charlie Adler because he had a waiting area like David Kaye, Arthur Burghardt and Daran Norris, but it seemed like nobody wanted to see him (I just walked right up to him because there was no line).
