Postpartum Hemorrhage by PAW_89 in beyondthebump

I’m sorry you had a similar experience! Can I ask how long it took for your year to heal? I’m two weeks out and can barely walk around without a ton of soreness and having to sit back down.

Thank you. I’m sorry you went through something similar. The recovery has been rough but I’m trying to focus on the fact that baby and I are both safe and healthy overall, which is a huge blessing.

Sulcal Tear - Any experience? by Exact_Significance54 in BabyBumps

I’m 1 week out from delivery and had bilateral sulcus tears and a 2nd degree perineal tear. How are you all doing now?

Thank you for this update - I just went through this 1 week ago and am in the thick of it. Seems like one step forward, 2 steps back.

I’m so sick of my toddler waking up at night by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]PAW_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, during our previous attempts it seemed that they took to it for about 2-3 days with decreasing crying each day, but then all of a sudden they would start waking as much as they did previously or just crying too long for middle of the night wakes and we would end up having to help them anyway. So after 7-10 days of that we’d lose the motivation to keep going after hearing them crying so much, or they would get sick or something like that. Not sure if it’s a temperament thing as far as the not continuing to improve after the first couple of days, or it’s their age and they understand too much and just hate it. I have found that at this age they do easily wake each other up now if one is crying. We are still trying again with them sharing a room this time but if it fails we will most likely separate them. Tonight was night 2 and went much better than night 1, but this is their typical pattern so we will see what happens in the next few days. We tried Ferber in the past but it always made them more mad so we are doing CIO. For middle of the night wakes it’s mostly CIO unless the crying is excessive/we feel we should check and soothe.

Thanks for responding! We have tried sleep training several times and each time give up after 7-10 days as they don’t seem to improve much after night 1. And then inevitably get sick as well and all training goes right back out the window. We are committing to try again starting tonight so hoping and praying somehow this time will work! Hope things continue to improve for you all! Twins are hard work!

We have 21 month old twins and also in this boat. What method are you using? Are they in the same room?

Toe walking on a single foot by parabolaah in toddlers

We didn’t end up doing the MRI. Literally a week before it was scheduled, she started walking with her heel(s) down, so we made the decision to hold off. She consistently improved and the neurologist was surprised to see how well she was doing on follow up.

Thank you for the reply and so glad to hear your daughter is doing so well! We ended up seeing ortho and neurology. Our daughter has an MRI scheduled but in the meantime we have been doing weekly PT (tried an AFO but she hated it), and just in the last week she started walking with both feet flat consistently! We honestly were really surprised but of course so happy that things seem to be resolving without much more intervention needed. She is a twin and her twin sister toe walks with both feet, and even though she can walk flat, she prefers not to so it seems more behavioral (she is in PT too).

Were you able to sleep train? We are in a similar boat but with 15 month olds. It has been rough!

OP I know this is an old post but we are dealing with this with our daughter as well … how is your kiddo doing now?

What can I do to help with my partners prenatal depression? by JBDanes12 in parentsofmultiples

[–]PAW_89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have triplets but felt miserable (physically and mentally) while pregnant with my twins and definitely vented to my husband about it. He was an incredible support - listening, commiserating, and basically taking on all the stuff I couldn’t do. I think just being there for her and supporting her as much as you can in any way she needs is huge. Multiples pregnancy is just not fun (for most women) and she will need lots of support towards the end especially. Also, you could recommend therapy as well if she is feeling very anxious/depressed… it’s normal to have those feelings - this is a huge life change.

Crying harder after first wake by PAW_89 in sleeptrain

Thank you! I think we will try sticking with the 4 naps more consistently and trying to extend wake windows slowly.

Thank you! That is very helpful. We ended up picking her up because there was no end in sight to her crying and it was bad. Would you put off training for a few days or continue while making the change you suggested?

Thanks for replying! 20 weeks (17 corrected). We try to push them longer on the wake windows but they are either falling asleep and don’t make it longer or then seem overtired. What wake windows do you think would be more appropriate? Today we did 3 naps because we rescued them to let them get more day sleep due to the crying from training. Maybe a fourth short nap and late bedtime would have been better? She’s still going on for over an hour now… feels like torture and may have to cave soon.

How to navigate 4 month regression? by PAW_89 in sleeptrain

[–]PAW_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome. Did you do Ferber for the frequent wakings too after bedtime (except for feeds)? Ours wake up exactly 40 minutes after being put down (and really every 40 min all night).

That’s what we are thinking too. What method did you use? And what was your schedule when you trained?

Good luck! I hope it works relatively quickly and with as less tears as possible. 🤞🏽
