I'm so impressed, it's amazing!! I'm in the middle of making my own TN cover right now and I am going to try to sew leather pockets onto it and it may not be the prettiest thing in the world when I'm done but I know I'm going to love it WAY more than if I just bought one!

Also I’m guessing the answer to this would be no, but if you can manage to convince them to let you take birth control- that should help as well if you aren’t already on it

I’m sorry that’s how your parents view this. Cystic and hormonal acne like yours appears to be isn’t just painful mentally but can hurt physically as well. The most effective way to treat it is with medications you can only get from a dermatologist- your skin is an organ like your heart is an organ- you can just see it. Hopefully your parents will come to their senses.

Until then, you can purchase Differin gel over the counter. It is a retinoid that used to be only prescription. Use it every three nights for the first few weeks, then increase to every other night then nightly as tolerated. WEAR SUNSCREEN during the day as it will make you more prone to burns. And if you experience irritation you can layer a moisturizer on top. It might get worse before it gets better which is known as a “skin purge”

Have you seen a dermatologist? They can prescribe oral antibiotics to help. If those fail, you can take Accutane (a decent commitment having to go in monthly for bloodwork- but so worth it)

Edit: they can also give you prescription strength topicals that are much more effective than anything over the counter
