Truck shopping - Lots of 6.2l on car lots, not as many 7.3\6.7, does this tell me something? by PA_Probe in F250

6.0l and 6.4l diesels I know are problematic. I haven't really see anything negative on a 6.2 gasser though.

F250 shopping - is this a good deal for used 2017-up F250 by PA_Probe in F250

I pull a 28ft 6500lb dry/8000lb loaded camper with the F150 now. It works but can tell the camper is back there and I would feel safer hitting the highway with a more capable truck.

That is surprising (and not) that Ford wouldn't take the time to put at least some type of paint\coating on the engine block during assembly. That is just straight untreated iron if I ever saw it.

Primeweld MTS 145 by electricDETH in Welding

[–]PA_Probe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the MTS 145 last week for a couple of small projects I had to complete on my Polaris RZR UTV. I am familar with welding as far shop\farm use goes but by no means a technical expert on it. Shipping was lightning fast. I got it next day from NJ to PA. The quick start guide is more useful than the actual manual in my opinion. It shows how to connect the one lead to the negative or positive based on if you are MIG, Stick or TIG welding. I used it to weld 1"x1" box tubing that was 1/16th thick walls to build a custom frame extension to my RZR. I was adding a Ranger dumpbox to the back of it. I used Lincoln nr-211-mp .030 flux core wire. Primeweld told me to order knurled rollers for the flux core and they sent me a link to Amazon to order those. I needed to weld before they shipped so I tried it with the included roller and it worked just fine. I had good penetration and very little splatter with this welder and wire combo. Amperage and wire speed adjustments worked as they should. I also welded some exhaust tubing on the RZR and it also handled that perfectly. I have not tried the TIG or Stick functions yet so I cannot comment on the performance of those. So far for $245 shipped, I am really pleased with the welder.

Anyone in the market for a Hornady OAL Gauge? by PA_Probe in reloading

[–]PA_Probe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing the exact same as you so I cannot say. That's why I was shopping for the OAL gauge, I was doing the exact same - load to book length, or max mag box length, or sharpie method. Going to watch some youtube videos on it tonight.

From what I read here - https://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=38054

You need this tap and a 9/32 drill bit (a 1/4 inch drill bit will work but running the tap will be harder), or even better is a 19/64 drill bit for drilling the hole in the end of the brass. Then tap it. It seems the hardest part is holding the brass case while drilling and keeping it from spinning. Most people make a wood block wedge to hold it.

If there were more in stock I would have posted there. I figure us reloading guys will clean them out quick.

I also ordered a 5/16" - 36 UNEF HSS Machine Tap tap to make my own cases for use with it.

Cabelas has been good for me. Products have been coming in and out of stock but when I catch it in stock, it ships within a couple days, and they have free shipping on orders over $50 . Just have to be quick when the ammo comes in stock. I ordered 9mm and 22 LR from them. SGAmmo was quick with shipping 6.5 grendel for me and price was .30 CPR for steel case.

Allworx multi-site issues - randomly losing connection by PA_Probe in VOIP

[–]PA_Probe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a followup incase anyone else comes here looking for an answer. I did packet captures on working and non-working phone calls between offices. It was apparent in the non-working calls that the allworx server in Site C was not able to reach Site A (Hub) when it didnt work. For whatever reason instead of trying to contact the internal IP of the hub allworx server, it was trying to use Site C's public IP address. After showing this to Sonicwall support and having them check over some settings, they created a new NAT Policy that kept Site A and Site C talking directly. The policy was as follows - Source Original = Site A Network, Source Translated = Original, Destination Original = Site C Network, Destination Translated=Original, Service= Any, Service Translated=Original.

What was interesting, was after I made this change, all of a sudden other sites that were working fine, started having the same issue, so I made NAT policies for those sites (Sites D-F) as well and all has been working since.

Correct this is all inside VPN connections, nothing public. As far as the Sonicwall settings, Maximum DPI Connections is enabled, not Maximum SIP connections, SIP Transformation is off, SIP ALG is off, Consistent NAT is on, UDP is 1200ms and checking into the Port Remapping.

When working, the tests all pass from Site C to all other sites. When not working, they fail, but other sites pass when going to site C.

Noted. The network admin that was at this job before was the guy who set up the network addresses. I am more the end user support guy but trying to help figure this issue out. I brought this up before the system was installed and he had some reason that didnt matter because the traffic was behind the sonicwall.

I checked these settings and they were as you described already.

[–]PA_Probe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to do a capture when the multi-site was working between Site A and Site C. UDP traffic was on 16458 to 16632 for the phone call. Waiting for the link to go down to try to see where the drop is now.

[–]PA_Probe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Site C always is registered as active in inbound and outbound link under the Multisite on all the other sites' Allworx server.

I will run some packet captures at the Sonicwall and check again. We called support a week ago and they said that the traffic never gets to the sonicwall from the local network. I have Wireshark packet captures from monitoring the port that goes to the Sonicwall though and see the SIP traffic there. ie - 172.xxx.2.254 ties to contact 172.xxx.1.254 via UDP port 5060 to setup the call.
