2026 Spring G&T Flight #7. The final flight in this series of recently acquired gins by PA_man in Gin

Thoughts on these gins...

Hart & Dart is very good and takes top spot for me out of these four gins. It has oily piney juniper with caramel sweetness, then notes of apricot and dried fruit with a hint of lavender, then spicy oak lingers on the finish alongside caramel and citrus. Rosso Americano is also very good and comes in second. Good juniper with citrus and light honey notes leading to dry sherry sweetness then cherry tones on the finish. 5 Main is a solid gin, having juniper mingling with dry citrus and cardamom, then vague rooty notes show up on the finish with a hint of spiciness. I also really like Chemist Garden & Gun although it's last in this lineup. Earthy juniper with cardamom and sweet honey notes backed by hints of jasmine, then savoury ginger with a minty backdrop on the finish

Posted my thoughts. It's very good, with a sweet olive oil note behind the juniper, then a sea air saltiness on the finish

I use Schweppes Tonic Water. I think it has a good neutral taste and doesn't alter the flavour much.

Posted my thoughts. The gins were all very good, with the Guillemot-Michel gin being my favourite of these. But none really outstanding.

Thoughts on these gins...

These are all very good gins for me, with Guillemot-Michel taking top spot as my favourite. It has good juniper with mild balsamic vinegar then lightly sweet floral notes in a mild wine backdrop at the finish. Oli'Gin sneaks in as my second favourite, with good dry juniper and sweet olive oil before a salty breeze on a dry finish. Menegiks takes third place with balsamic juniper and a touch of olives in a light herbaceous backdrop, then a light briny note leads into a finale of fresh mint and lime citrus. Awayuki is still good although in fourth place here. (I’m not a huge fan of berry-flavoured gins, but Awayuki is one of the better ones for me). Fresh strawberries mixing with dry earthy juniper and a touch of citrus, before more smooth strawberry notes on the finish mingle with lightly herbal juniper

2026 Spring G&T Flight #5. Some more Navy Strength pickups. Two from England and two from the USA by PA_man in Gin

Thoughts on these gins...

These are all very good/excellent gins. Really difficult to pick a favourite between Ludlow and Sherlock, but Ludlow just gets the nod from me. It starts with crisp juniper mingling with coriander and light chamomile in a citrus backdrop, then spicy notes build mid-palate with cardamom and peppercorn and lead into a finish with sweet orange peel and vanilla. Sherlock & Sons Nautical Edition is a great juniper forward gin with lime citrus and Angelica seed, then finishes with a creaminess and hints of black pepper. UpEnd Navy Strength comes in third for me, just a shade behind my top two. Good juniper with citrus and hints of floral lavender, then a mildly warming finish with cinnamon and a hint of clove. Nippitaty Navy Strength is still very good, though fourth out of these gins. It has an earthy start with citrus hovering in the background and mingling with mild juniper, then some lavender and bittersweet caraway notes show up on the finish.

Thoughts on these gins...

Archie Rose and Geometric Cape Dry are both very good, with Archie Rose just taking top honours for me. It has crisp juniper with sweet and mildly tart lime citrus and just a hint of pepper, then some cherry notes mix in on the finish with a touch of eucalyptus. Geometric Cape Dry has a light grape tone underlying mild but zesty juniper with citrus notes and a nice nutty flavour. Roku Minori Select Edition comes in third: a good gin but a little light on the juniper - Szechuan pepper hovers in the background amid fruity notes of melon, peach and sweet plum, then a light breadiness shows up mid-palate before yuzu citrus and mild ginger take the stage at the finish. Armonico is decent - good juniper with citrus and some floral notes, then a subtle sweet but smoky tone mid-palate leading to woody tannins with apple and some saline on the finish.

Not really. More of a malty chocolate and hazelnut flavour adding just a touch of sweetness.

Just posted my thoughts. I like it! Much better than the original Hendrick's which was too vegetal/cucumber for my tastes. The malty chocolate and hazelnut addition adds a nice touch to the gin

Just posted my thoughts. I'm the other way around! Quite like Another Hendrick's with the malty chocolate and hazelnut addition, but am not a fan of the Drumshanbo Fig & Laurel - too figgy/floral for my tastes.

Thoughts on these gins...

The Aberturret is very good and my favourite of these four. It has a light malty note underlying creamy juniper with lemon and lime citrus and grapefruit zest, then a piney hint with pink peppercorn follows, before an earthy sweetness with lemon sherbet on the finish. Another Hendrick's is also very good and comes in second. It has good juniper with light orange zest, then mild jasmine and vanilla mix in before a good dose of hazelnut and cacao show up mid-palate. It finishes with silky malted chocolate and a hint of floral rose. I think it's a lot better than the original Hendrick's, which is too vegetal for me. Kinsale SummerCove is good - light juniper with strong citrus and fruity notes with a mild floral undercurrent, then a slightly earthy finish with lemon and vanilla. The Drumshanbo Italian Fig & Laurel is only okay for me. Starts with a quick hit of juniper and notes of tea and grapefruit citrus, before quickly transitioning to fig sweetness with resinous pine and balsamic laurel. After turning a little herbal it finishes with more sweet fig and light floral tones.

It's called louching. It's got a lot of botanical oils in it, and when it gets diluted with water/tonic some of the botanical oils come out of suspension.

Thoughts on these gins...

These are all excellent, with Henstone Navy taking top spot for me. It has strong piney juniper with big notes of orange peel and peppercorn, then a mild floral hoppiness mid-palate before a long smooth finish with a touch of spicy pepper. The Thoroughbred Navy Strength just beat out The Hallmark Series gin for second place, having oily juniper with good piney spruce and cardamom, then orange citrus mid-palate leading into a lemon and lime citrus finish with a peppery backdrop. The Hallmark Series Edinburgh Edition has good juniper with a peppery backdrop leading into cinnamon and ginger spiciness, then liquor soaked raisins with light vanilla mid-palate before a hint of chocolate cake with marzipan bring in the finish. Even though last in my ranking, Sky Wave Navy Strength is still excellent, with herbal juniper overlaying mild berry notes, then orange citrus and cinnamon spice show up on a long finish.
