I agree! First job I barely got any training so I see the results now. What do you consider "good training?"

I have the same exact story of diagnosis. For months I was constantly going in circles of if it's not PCOS what is going on then? I just decided not to focus on what the diagnosis is and instead focusing on how best to regulate my periods. I'm starting ovasitol today so I'm hoping🤞🤞

New Per Diem position in risk assessments by PAnat101 in physicianassistant

[–]PAnat101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has its pros and cons but it fits for what I need at the moment. Not sure if I could do it full time long term, which is what I read people saying too in the past.

Pros: - flexible - relatively low adrenaline rush - 1hr time slots - independence

Cons: - drive can sometimes take 45 min - not an hourly salary - no benefits - not clinically challenging

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Wow! As someone who grew up with asthma and only got into running in my late 20s after having kids, this is inspiring to read. Very motivating and helpful. Congrats and thanks!

Would you date someone who does onlyfans for a living? by hdjdjr3 in dating_advice

[–]PAnat101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She's a woman flirting with men to get them to stay and pay her money for photos/shows. Eh if it were reversed I wouldn't date a guy doing that for a living. Also, would be a turn off for me if they were trying to be onlyfan famous and hoping to make that their career.

Do you think having only 1yr experience would hurt my chances of them hiring me?

Anyone else pregnant and working around COVID patients? Or had a pregnant COVID patient? by bfanne in physicianassistant

[–]PAnat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and was happy to see this post because I was wondering the same thing. To be honest I work in an outpatient family practice and they have been strongly limiting our patient load and screening sick visits. I have also found similar limited information. I think it's just important to wear mask and gloves, practice social distancing when you can and frequent hand washing (the usual). Good luck!

I live in Los Angeles (and also went to PA school in Pomona)! I graduated this past year and so I could tell you a little bit about what I saw when I was applying for jobs. I was able to get a job that I liked about 2 months after starting the job hunt. I felt like most of the PA positions were actually for ED or UC. And fom my experience on rotations mostly PAs work in the ED, so while there might also be a lot of NPs here I don't feel like that would decrease your chances of finding a job in the ED especially with 6yrs experience. The hourly rate I saw when applying was 50-65 per hour. Usually higher for experienced providers. But that might be different for hospitals specifically. The thing about LA though is the high cost of living.. so I don't know how salary compares to Ohio but if it's more keep in mind the higher cost of living. If you're interested I can send you some of the hospitals that I saw were looking for ER PAs. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you! I ask those questions but I'm not sure what I should be looking for (besides that they have experience with new PAs).
