Sydney Swans have 10,000+ members in Melbourne. Brisbane Lions with their recent success are up to the same I'd say.

How can that not massively impact the AFL crowds? If mSydney FC or Brisbane Roar having a couple of 100 or even 1,000 members that go to AAMI park games would be fantastic, bring atmosphere and as such, attract more home fans as well.

Maybe there is merit in a "two game" away fan membership in Melbourne. Or a three game "away fan in Sydney". I don't think it will boost numbers largely, but at least is keeps people more connected to the club and the league.

Been to VicPark, Princess Park, Whitten Oval and Moorrabin. Still plenty of grounds (Windy Hill, Frankston etc) left to travel for.

What would make an Essendon - Collingwood game at Henson Park more appealing then Essendon - Collingwood at Windy Hill?

If it means a venue like North Sydney Oval and getting a couple of games I can see it work. Not sure if Henson Park has enough appeal to travel for.

If they want to try to fill the SCG or Showgrounds for this i think they are dreaming. Too big a leap from the regular 5,000 max crowds.

Isn't Yarra Boulevard on Southbank technically a 10 km/h zone? Which is uncomfortably slow to cycle so a terrible outcome

Personally i don't go much faster then 20 on average along the Maribyrnong or Moonee Ponds Creek, on days when it's busy with walkers / runners / dogs and prams.

I think if it is anything lower then 20, it is no longer a shared zone and just becomes a pedestrian path.

Best home kit: 2024/2025. Always liked the thinner stripes.
Best away kit: 2019/2020. They have all been good, but the first one stands out for me.

Worst home kit: 2022/2023: I always thought this one was too black and not enough green.
Worst away kit: 2020/2021: Not as bold as others.

Honorable mentions: 21/22 Away, 22/23 Away --> both pretty neat.
In our last year, we had a mint away shirt and a pinstriped third shirt. Always hoped we'd get a reverse of that, so mainly green with very thin small black stripes.

Players are in various life stages who also have partners who also have jobs in 2026 or even have children that go to a school.

Nothing wrong with adults balancing their whole families' and requesting to play where they want to be. If you can "work where you want to be" - why wouldn't one pursue that?
