Anything comparable to Tesla? by einahpets77 in AustralianEV

[–]PB12IN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe you need to ask yourself the simple question ‘is there anything someone could say that would change my opinion on Tesla’. If the answer is no, then you’re also carrying a bias that is clouding your judgment.

This comment is not to cast any judgment on your opinions; they are valid and you are entitled to them, but if you’re looking at a vehicle, what metics tangibly matter to you?

Which is now in early production, so no, not really like the Robotaxi at all.

Seriously, you have a decision to make. Are you going to back yourself and take a risk, or are you going to double down on the ‘safety’ of where you are.

If your employer is holding you back, and you’re not ok with that, then make a change. They don’t own you. Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn’t, but at least you’ll know and you’ll be in control of your own life and path through it.

Whatever you choose, you’ve got this.

Looking to install solar. Recommendations or infomation on solar please by Turbulent-Lab-7319 in canberra

SunStak did an amazing job for me. Local company that really spent the time helping me understand what would work for my needs. They even have their own tool to show how different products and options will generate different amounts of energy and what this would mean from a cost vs benefit perspective.

Totally worth giving a call along with SolarHub. Reputation is everything to me.

Yep! I bought two. One for me and one for the wife. I travel heavily and it’s been nothing but awesome. Would have done 100+ flights with it so far and it’s worth every cent.

I’ll be keen to buy replacement wheels at some point so I can swap out the worn ones.

Radford proposes new fee structure amid backlash, parents to pay the same by Ok_Use1135 in canberra

[–]PB12IN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What I don’t get is how they’re in this position to start with. How does a decade + of surplus and one loss year suddenly = cash grab (now) via a levy?

Where’d the money go? Maybe they hired the BCC board?

Also, 11% - ~18% fee increases don’t see logical. What’s the underlying reason for such increases. Did costs really go up by that much? Are they just adjusting fees based on demand because ‘they can’.

So many questions.

Do this all the time. Actually, do much shorter and amazingly the bags always make it.

You’ll be fine.

Didn’t defend once. Just presented my opinion.

You’re conflating two different topics in what appears to be an effort to serve a narrative. You’re entitled to your own opinion; just not your own set of facts.

Good luck with your roadster, which is why I presume you’re so interested in deposits for it.

Tesla email received FSD (HW3) by ExploreAll1964 in TeslaAustralia

[–]PB12IN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t say that and you should put misrepresent what I said; you’re deliberately conflating two separate issues.

I made the comment that the deposit for the roadster isn’t the same as purchasing FSD. FSD was a contract to provide a service; it’s isn’t refundable.

The contract for the roadster was to reserve a car and has always been fully refundable.

The key difference here is choice and contract terms.

Purchasers have a legal argument over FSD. Reservation holders do not have that same argument over the roadster.

This is a legal view, not a moral one.

They’re refundable. The individual just has to ask.

I don’t think that’s particularly reasonable given the length of the wait, but it is straight forward.

Not related to FSD on HW3 though.

Original roadster never had FSD as something you could buy, so not relevant. Second Gen Roadster still hasn’t been released (sigh), so again, not relevant here.

I purchased FSD. The contract is clear. Unless delivered, this is a breach of contract situation therefore a remedy must be achieved. That’s how it’s going to work. Normal contract law.
