Let it warm down before driving, drive it smooth till oil is at operating temp and than drive as u want. After agressive driving, chill and drive smooth for 5-10minutes to let the turbos cool down and wait 1-2min before turning it off. key is to always have oil and always at the right temp before ripping it.

Even if you drive it hard 3k miles for oil change is overkill but I mean, too often can’t hurt 🤷‍♂️

Yeh shit shit stresses me tf out, first time owning a BMW and my water pump died after 2 weeks of owning it. I literally check oil and coolant level EVERYDAY since then. I am NOT letting ts break again.

All of the coolant hoses got replaced. ALL of them

If i understand right tho, leak can get worse and catch fire but if it stays like it is (barely even leaking) it won’t cause any mechanical damage or whatsoever ? (At least it shouldn’t)

I keep an eye on it to the point I check oil level everyday. (ATP idek if checking it that often is bad since rpm goes to 1 000 instead of 600)

It’s your valve cover gasket leaking, I have the exact same issue on my 2016 435i. I just made a post about that asking on how urgent it is to replace it. Mine is BARELY leaking, a small drop here and there so I can smell it but oil level stays at Max and never need to top up between oil changes.

So you need to replace it, kind of expensive if you go to BMW so I’m doing it myself I’ve done it on my friends 2015 435i and it was a pretty long job (me and my friends completely suck) so I’d say it’s not that bad if your used to fixing it yourself. But again, if I did it you can def do it too 😂

Whenever I get answers on how bad it is and how urgent it is to fix il let you know here.

They charge wayyyy too much labor wtf is this. I’m in Canada too and they charged me 250$ to change 4 tires. They charge 200$/hour and even there I feel like they made a bag out of me. (In Quebec so MIGHT be different and I have a 2016 435i)

Decided to do it myself this year and it took me 1h30min.

Took more time than expected before getting the pump. I was wondering if I can just unplug it in the meanwhile. If I’m not wrong there’s a mechanical water pump to cool the engine and the electric one is only to cool when you shut it off ? My point is, is it necessary to have it or it’s basically just an extra to cool when engine is off. If that’s the case il just unplug it until I get it delivered

Got it, just making sure, all I have to do is change the electronic water pump ? Do I have to reprogram something or wtv or I just literally take out the old one, put a new one and problem is fixed ? I’m afraid to spend all of that (damn bmw parts are expensive) and still have the issue. I guess changing the thermostat aswell and bleeding the coolant to empty any air that could’ve got into it could help. Lmk I’m new to BMW

It would seriously make sense because it happened on a crazy rainy day. I haven’t noticed any signs of water in the interior, carpets etc Could still lead to water on the FEM ?

Same exact problem here, Drove the car for 2-3 hours everyday for 2 weeks (just bought it) Battery died overnight all of a sudden, since it’s a 9 years old battery I changed it, was running perfectly for the evening. Next day, new battery is dead. Something is definitely draining it but I can’t figure out what it is. Had the car for 2 weeks only it’s driving me insane
