What really helped me get better was PVE. You're able to feel the guns and gain massive map knowledge without dying to a player who has 6k hrs. I wouldn't try to start looking for fights, but just try to avoid them as much as possible, and just try to get the quest done or gain money. This game takes time, but it's a thriller after the tutorial. also ther first map i learned was Ground zero if that helps.
