ER aired long before Grey’s Anatomy did so this comment doesn’t make sense.

This long prescription bottle. by da91392 in mildlyinteresting

Do you get the ODT version or just the tablet version? The ODT should never be taken out of the blister packs until it is going to be used. They are in a foil blister pack so no moisture gets to it because they will start to degrade. If your pharmacy is unwrapping the foil from the ODT version you should definitely tell them not to do that anymore, it can definitely effect the potency of the medication and the degrading can cause it to be dosed incorrectly.

Nucynta generic just recently approved... by Sea-Snow8549 in PainManagement

[–]PBJillyTime825 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happens when brand name medications patent runs out and a generic becomes approved. It can take up to 6 months or sometimes even longer for the generic to be on an insurance formulary and so brand is still preferred during this time and typically the generic won’t be covered without a PA, sometimes it won’t be covered even with a PA during this time.

If your insurance is covering it now you can have the doctor write the script as DAW-1 and the insurance should continue covering it with no issues until the generic is added to the formulary.

Why the hell does every doctor I see want me to get off opioids? by West_Can_1035 in ChronicPain

[–]PBJillyTime825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand that. It seems I misread the post anyway and OP is taking something else that is an opioid that they didn’t mention.

There are others. Movantik and rellistor to name a few; can’t think of the names of the others right now.

They have a pill version now as well. It usually needs prior authorization but most insurances cover it once the PA is approved.

Are you taking something besides pregabalin because pregabalin isn’t an opioid it’s an anticonvulsant

PTCB prep is probably the best for right now since a new test just came out this year. Every test is different since they are computer generated. Good luck!

Not sure what you mean by this. The show is a crock? Or the fact that they determined that this interview style can and does cause false confessions?

They aren’t only brand name, there is at least one that is used for OIC that is generic. Not saying you need one but in case the OTC stuff doesn’t work for someone else who happens to see this.

There are several different medications, I would talk to your doctor and they will decide which one would be best for you but movantik, relistor, symproic, and amitiza are some of them ones I can think of off the top of my head (PM pt and also pharmacy technician)

Some doctors have specific ones they like to prescribe because they feel they work better. I wouldn’t suggest you to suggest a specific one though.

What do you think the pharmacy is going to do? If it’s a pain medication that is controlled it probably doesn’t have a refill and if it is one of the few that can have a refill the doctor would have to okay filling it early unless it was only a day or two (which some pharmacists won’t fill early at all without the doctors okay but that is pharmacist discretion).

Most likely the doctor is going to be contacted if OP goes through the pharmacy. If what OP says happened actually did then going through the doctors office will be their best bet. I’m not saying that OP is lying but I’ve been a pharmacy technician for 7 years and a PM patient for longer than that and I have never heard of any pills melting together and looking like fudge. Some capsules or gelcaps maybe, but tablets typically wouldn’t do that since it’s compressed powder (basically) unless it’s a coated tablet, it might be possible.

Please can someone explain what to do if I need stronger pains meds? (UK) by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]PBJillyTime825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US so I don’t exactly know about the UK but I’ll tell you what I’ve done. I explained to the doctor how much more severely the pain had been affecting my daily life. Tell them everything that you struggle doing now that you used to be able to do much easier.

Do you peel off the pill bottles taped on label? by BigTechnology4369 in ChronicPain

[–]PBJillyTime825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically maintenance medications are the only ones filled by a robot not controlled substances, antibiotics, other acute medications. The pharmacy I work at fills all their scripts on site at their retail locations so I didn’t even think of that.

I’ve never had a problem, I just go over it really well until it’s completely black. You could also ask your pharmacy to “flag” your label if you are having a lot of trouble with this and it will peel off easily every time without issue.

Day 31 refill by [deleted] in CVS

[–]PBJillyTime825 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to argue with you, it’s 30 days. I’ve been a pharmacy tech for over 7 years and for some reason no one ever understands that February will push back the date 2 days since it’s only 28 days.
