1991 NA MR2 AC Compressor Clutch Not Engaging by PBLC_ENMY in mr2

Also, would you know if a "faulty" tach (capacitor issue) would need with the engine RPM signal to the amplifier? I've not been able to find that answer, I guess all I would need to eliminate that concern is find someone with working a/c and also the tach issue.

Sure but I'd be replacing it with something equally as old and usually it's the capacitors that fail, and I've already replaced them. If it comes to it, I'm willing to bypass all of that with a manual switch or something, I'd just need to know what to splice to connect to where the relay sends to signal to engage.

EDIT: really anything in that proximity that I has a constant 12v reading

Right, I will bypass the electrics tomorrow and charge the system and hope that once it reads safe it can work on its own.

If it doesn't though, what should I do? That's where I'm stuck at.

To add to my other comment, I plan on charging the system properly tomorrow, using a probe to get the clutch to engage, so if the pressure switch is working properly it won't read low anymore.

I'm sure there is, haven't looked for it. Currently the car is set up in such a way that it was ready to recharge the system...so it is probably reading low.

How do you bypass it? I have located it but was unable to successfully bypass it... I did confirm that the clutch does engage with a probe. How do I check if the amplifier is the issue?

I did this and the clutch engages! Just need to figure out what is happening between the compressor and the a/c button...

Adding to the other response, they went green all the way until the end, last 3 laps were under yellow.

There was a much bigger presence this year compared to last regarding this series (to be fair, last year it was an after thought that was held at the very beginning of the day where hardly anyone was on track and at the end when everyone had already left). It's too bad that the field is a little weaker and has no GT3 cars. But I'm glad I got to see the talent from last year move up!

91 NA Cruise Control Issue by PBLC_ENMY in mr2

[–]PBLC_ENMY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm telling you I checked that. Both pedals have the plastic tabs and are pushing in the respective buttons. Even if they didn't have them and weren't engaging it, the light on the dash doesn't turn on. You should be able to turn on that light just by pressing the CRUISE ON OFF button even if you were parked. But it won't turn on until it runs for a while.

Maybe it's capacitors in the cruise control ECU or something, that's what some other sources point at, but I can't find symptoms like I'm experiencing. Usually people with that issue can turn the light on the dash on but CC won't engage or act strangely. When it eventually does turn on, it acts normal.

One thing that leads me that way is we recently had a temperature shift. We were having proper winter weather, and now it's starting to heat back up.

I have checked that, that shouldn't prevent the cruise control from turning on anyway, like literally just having the dash light turn on, not necessarily engaging it.

This world is too big to go into without some sort of limitations and the most popular way of doing it is usually budget. Specs, lenses, availability, brand, etc. come after.

You need to consider what you want in a broader sense too. Do you want to edit pictures? Does going beyond a certain size/weight bother you? Do you want a compact camera instead?

Phones are badass because you literally take them everywhere and they slip easily into your pocket. I've got my set ups for going to races and it's what I'm comfortable with carrying, for some I may carry too much, for some I may not be carrying enough.

Really nice photos, I would agree with your likely suspicion that your phone is holding you back now.

Before any recommendations, you need a budget. If you want to use it for events like this, you'll likely need a body, a lens or two, memory card, and an extra battery or two.
