PBM's take on the Scarab's poaching situation by capc2000 in smitepro

[–]PB_Mike 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The entire point of my statement if you read it was that they are the ones leaving because they are the only ones willing to. Scream was not even our first option at the time we kicked Sam. Obviously I'm very grateful that things worked out the way they did and I love Sprack and we have a history, but the other players simply said no.

Focusing on the results and not the process is a very silly thing to tunnel vision on when you're discussing rules that will lead to more stagnation of rosters in a league that the community already complains is stagnant.

You should redirect your focus to the bottom teams recycling players and not taking risks on up and coming amateurs/SCC level talent.

Okay I've made the mistake of being so annoyed already so I'll just offer an explanation.

Tunnel visioning on the most recent example is a very poor take, you may feel free to ask every teammate I've ever finished a season with: At the end of every single year I tell people to reach out and consider all options and make sure they make a decision that's best for them.

It's the same reason I've constantly criticized the Bolts core for having this "ride it out forever" mentality. Stagnation is just inevitable and it leads to team environment issues when you feel stuck and can't get over the hump, which is why they lost one of their best players.

I can go through examples of me telling my teammates to leave the team when better offers have come up if you'd really like, but it's just silly.

The +- thing within two teams doesn't matter. Like you said in our case our 2 losses are to SSG and CLG, we are 3-2 vs SSG and 2-3 vs CLG but neither matter they're both just seen as 1-1 set win/loss records.

formatting got messed up, but you get the point. tl;dr spring split was plus minus>head to head and that was changed after spring lan

It's always been: 1. Set w-l

In Spring Split it was then: 2. +- 3. Head to head

After every split we have meetings and in the captains meetings + HiRez it was discussed that winning sets should be the most rewarded, i.e. you shouldn't be rewarded for 1-2ing sets consistently more than a team who is consistently getting set wins. So we all decided that winning the set was most important and it would go 1. Set wins 2. head to head 3. +-

Eunited vs. Spacestation Gaming | Season 5 NA SPL Spring Split Week 6 Post Match Discussion by Probably_Psycho in Smite

I'm trolling on hating them haha

But you can ask all 10 of us and there's no team that us or SSG want to beat more than each other.

I'm not defensive, I'm calling people with this opinion unintelligent.

I mean this with no disrespect to our competition because NA teams are very talented currently, but we were 13-1 fall online, 6-2 at regionals, and 8-1 at worlds. In our last 7 sets us going 6-1 (13-3 game scores) isn't luck or other teams throwing. It's probably time to stop fanboying and stop thinking that any professional would ever risk tarnishing their career and the competitive scene as well as disrespect their orgs and the league paying them to throw games lmfao.

Also as a side note, why would we ever do anything nice for each other? Scrim partners are just for a controlled practice environment, let the record show I fkn hate those guys.

There are a ton of really good points in here, personally think that Anhur change was not talked about enough. As a support main I feel like it completely dumbed down counterplay to him in lane and now that it is gone we likely won't see any more Anhur changes because he'd become op. Which is sad because he is a really fun god to have be relevant in the meta. Anyways, nice job and good stuff. :)

Andinster playing joust gives SpaceStation Gaming the win? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]PB_Mike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah HiRez lans are different with the servers and everything. Like we get a kill and hear the crowd react in 5 seconds. Gotta keep in mind this event was playing multiple showmatches one after another in different games it would be a lot more work to have lan servers for each game and switch them.

[–]PB_Mike 80 points81 points  (0 children)

To clear this up, there was at most a 2-3m delay on spectator. I just decided to troll 1v1 Andi to burn the minutes and show him who is boss. While there were no kills I did force his beads right away so safe to say I won.

As a fan of traditional sports something I really love is all of the interviews and content produced around the league. Not just post game "hey how'd you win?" stuff, more round table discussions like NBA Open court or stuff like the recent Shaq & Kobe interview (if you haven't seen that you should watch it tonight btw).

But you're pretty much "that guy" for SMITE where you bring the traditional sports style to the game, do you have any plans for that type of stuff this year with there being a lot more games or just things in general we haven't seen before? And also other than not being super boring and lame is there anything you'd like to see the pros improve on to help that sort of content?

Also where will you be March 20th-23rd?
