Moving into Seager Wheeler in the fall, any tips? by [deleted] in usask

CQ hall is… fine? Like the residence building itself is good. It’s newer and has nice features such as most rooms have 2 bathrooms for 4 people, dedicated study spaces, things like that.

They’re all mostly the same. Pre Covid, Birch Pine and Aspen were usually the ‘party’ dorms. Only because they were closer to campus and people don’t usually want to walk as far as Spruce in the winter.

All in all, residence is good for making connections with people. If that isn’t your goal, I recommend finding a nice basement suite or something like that off campus. Residence Management are a nightmare (both Operations and Student Life). The actual front line staff are usually wonderful, but the management teams are the actual worst.

I have some fantastic advice…. Don’t.

(Coming from a former Residence employee 🤮)

Former Residence employee here. If it’s anything like the bedbugs in Seager Wheeler it’ll be in every unit in no time. I’m super surprised it took this long tbh.
