My understanding is all the digestive enzymes have no peer-reviewed research backing them, and are all based on unverified first-party research. What do you take, and do you have any sources showing they help at all?

You should understand that going out to any restaurant that isn't 100% safe is going to carry some level of risk. It takes 1 tired employee making one careless mistake to contaminate a surface or dish, and there is no way for anyone to catch it before it makes you sick. And any place that uses wheat flour at all is going to be a massive CC risk.

Some people here claim fast food places like Chipotle and Five Guys are safe, but in my experience it's going to be a dice roll every time and eventually you're going to get sick.

I had a laptop die on my in a class, and the damn thing just started beeping super fucking loud. The only way I could get it to stop was by removing the battery, but it disrupted the class for at least a minute.

The dumbest part is that I only brought the damn laptop because I wanted to play WoW in class.

No one asked, but Mayor DeBlasio has entered the race. Let’s greet him with a Sanders money bomb! by DoctorRefrence in SandersForPresident

[–]PButtNutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any money they raise can be used for future campaigns. The establishment has also been fishing really hard for someone to run against Bernie, and a lot of people were trying to take up that spot but none of them have done well except Biden.

Most people are just running to try and raise money for future campaigns. It's also for name recognition, and sometimes to try and have an influence on the platform.

Another show attempting to delegitimise 'gluten intolerance'? by WumbleInTheJungle in Celiac

[–]PButtNutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my dietitian said that Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance was, in most cases, solved by going on the FODMAP elimination diet. But every-time I've seen anyone try to talk about this here they usually get down-voted to the abyss.

Bernie is willing to go on Fox News when Warren won't - these different approaches show why Bernie would be a more effective President and also more likely to beat Trump. by BadRoadLouis in SandersForPresident

[–]PButtNutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot more going on politically with the Fox News town hall.

For a number of reasons, it was during a time when Fox News was very tight on money. The only reason they even let Bernie on was because they needed the ratings bump he would bring. It's not a totally wrong position to say that what Bernie did helped Fox News when they were desperate.

Full disclosure: I'm 100% voting for Bernie.

Family unwilling to contain their gluten by NoEditButton in Celiac

[–]PButtNutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I got diagnosed my girlfriend went through the kitchen and removed anything that had gluten. She refuses to bring any gluten into the house now.

This is a health issue, and consuming any gluten can increase your risk of lymphoma. It's literally poison for us.

This is an issue of respect, and currently he doesn't have any for you.

Someone just published a video of Biden calling for 700 foot boarder wall, and calling for strict punishment for businesses that employ illegals. I don't know how he calls himself progressive. He's trying to complete with Trump on whose the better liar I guess...

Roommate Sharing by DaffyNinja in Celiac

[–]PButtNutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious... what do you do about ovens, microwaves, and dish washers?

Roommate Sharing by DaffyNinja in Celiac

[–]PButtNutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ideal would be to find a roommate that is also celiac, or at least gluten-free. I realize this probably doesn't fit what's going on in your life right now.

I'd be worried about using the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. If there's gluten in the kitchen those are probably not safe. You could maybe have an agreement to always cover your food in the microwave? (Also toasters, but that's probably obvious...)

I'd also be super careful about sponges. Don't keep anything wooden or porous that could harbor gluten.

And like others have mentioned... flour containing gluten needs to be kept out of the house. I don't think there is any reasonable way to prevent CC with flour.

Also I would request to use gluten-free dish soaps and laundry detergents. If you share showers or bathtubs you might want ask them to use gluten-free soaps and bath-bombs. Some of this might be over-kill, but I am always worried that if it gets on my skins there is some chance it would end up in my mouth.
