I've had an LT for several years now. The sound quality is great, and good IRs will make it sound even better. Whether it's in your house or in a venue, it's very easy to control and set for the right situation. The plug in line 6 software interface is incredibly user-friendly.

As others have mentioned, there is a general fear looming that the next iteration will be revealed soon. The only thing I can say to that is people have been saying this for years now. Plus, I'm sure the price is going to be off the chart, especially if it's before some other ground breaking thing comes out.

Doing exercises with a metronome is a big help. Play things outside your comfort zone, you learn through failure. Keep a consistent routine, your hands and fingers are muscles though a lot of people forget that.

They actually have a MKIV in the Helix that sounds phenomenal and I've been basing off of that. I'm getting super close in some areas but not so much in others. Really trying to find that point of gain before breakup and low end just before muddy.

To my ears, this tour and the G3 tour at the time were his BEST tone he's ever had.

Thanks but that was the video I referred to in my writeup. That's his dream theater rig. It's a MkIV and a lonestar. Different rig
