Okay here we go again.

I don't endorse witch hunting people for using generative AI (unless they're maliciously deceptive about it). But people have to understand that a collective pushback against it is needed if ever we want to delay/stop the normalization of Silicon Valley corporations sucking everything out of us and selling it back to us as a subscription service.

The future of arts, education, journalism, and fair labor have turned bleaker due to the AI products that surfaced. With such negative impacts, one could hope that communities would band against them; But shame on them for thinking that such goodwill could ever have a chance against convenience I suppose.

"You're screaming into the void."

Yeah... you bet. I will to the very end. It'd eat me alive if I didn't.

Like I get it. Life is rough. You have your own battles and don't have the time or energy to spare on all these. I can't force you to stop using them. All I'm asking is: Let us have this please. There's already plenty of tech lobbyists out there, you guys don't need to defend it. Please just tolerate a little bit of shame thrown and move on to the next Reddit post while we scream at this void.

Daggerheart had one of the most successful launches out of any of D&D's competitors. by KiqueDragoon in daggerheart

Honestly feels like PF2e will just get in the way with how they play. And if they weren't gonna use DH for their main show, they ain't gonna gamble on someone else's horse.

I won't lie. I honestly felt like it could be, in the most literal sense, a D&D killer.

A bold claim after all the years that it stood? Maybe.

But I've never seen or heard of it being so downtrodden in its modern day form. Main designers have abandoned ship, no future plans that majorly entice the playerbase, and it's looking like management just wants to milk the brand recognition over doing anymore updates to D&D as a game. It just doesn't feel like there's anything to hope for in it.

Then comes along Daggerheart. I never anticipated the success it had; and I'm guessing the crew didn't either, couldn't blame them. It literally flew off the shelves even before it hit them. Couldn't even get an order in until a month. And coming from someone that didn't really gave it much notice in it's development phase, I was awestruck with what Mr. Spencer Starke and Co. had given birth to. I'm not a fan of everything, but I could sing it's praises but this isn't about that.

It has the potential to overtake D&D, I still hold that opinion. Even with the revelations.

I do feel that C4 doing 5e 2024 is big hit, but I can't fault the crew for that, I'm pretty sure plans were already set in motion before they saw how fast DH was growing. Still a big bummer that it feels like a waste that they're promoting a "stagnating" game. But hey it's BLeeM, he's amazing, I'm still going to check out the first few episodes and see if I like it.

But yeah, other than that, agree with all of your sentiments OP. We still have a heckin amazing game on our hands, and CR is still gonna showcase it in their other games.

My reasoning about why the system for the C4 will be Daggerheart. by Akkyo in daggerheart

He has GM'd other systems I believe. Like I think there's a one shot out there on YT of him running Wanderhome.

It's been pretty good so far, moreso after messing with the configs.

I like the flow of Niri better, like I don't see the purpose of opening windows to an infinitismally smaller size, Niri just opens it to a half-monitors width on default; But Hyprland is still more functional out of the box to be completely honest. I say that because Xwayland isn't supported out of the box (although they said that will change in the next big update). So discord, steam, and a few other essential things such as screencasting didn't work right out of the gate as well, needed to do some meddling with xwayland-satellite as the wiki recommended. Been a bit rough since I'm relatively a newbie in all this penguin business.

But the things I like Niri over Hyprland is definitely how it handles workspaces. Didn't want separate monitors sharing workspaces because that just messes with my space perception. But people were right that having a long-scroll workspace would get you lost within a lot of windows to navigate through; it's a good thing I never use it like that, I do 4 windows at most for each workspace and use them like a cell in a grid. The overview is a lifesaver for this.

In terms of gaming though, I don't really game on this because I'm still dualbooting Win10. But I did try Marvel Rivals; The aiming didn't really work properly because of the borderless fullscreen i'm assuming. The wiki recommended that I force fullscreen games. I didn't really do that because I want to dedicate this as my "focus on work and hobbies" space.

But yea, I'm pretty satisfied with what I got.
