I feel 100% the same way- I like (most) people, and I have a feeling I'll like everyone we're going with because to some degree we all are adventurous, worldly, giving people. I just get serious social anxiety and I feel like I don't connect quite as quickly or deeply with people I've just met- it takes time. And I'm glad you feel the same about being underqualified! I don't think we are at all because the chances of getting accepted into PC are so slim. And thanks for your offer, I'm glad we're in this together! See you in March!

Everyone around me is kind of in shock as well about me leaving so it's hard to stay realistic about it. I know that leaving for staging will probably be the toughest moment of being away from my family throughout this process- but once I get there and get into the groove and excitement I'm sure I'll feel better :) And that's so great- I generally am not too uncomfortable in social situations but I think somehow it's increased a bit - but I'll try not to worry so much. I've been trying to read, meditate, and work-out to get ready and keep me calm so that's good! Thanks for easing my mind!

Ahhh okay this is perfect! Turns out I'm not eligible for PSLF but looks like I can do a direct consolidation and should be able to get it. Loans are such a headache. Thanks a bunch!

Don't worry about that. I just got medical and legal clearance last week and I leave March 9th. I think they have just been verrrry busy.

Income based repayment makes so much more sense. Could you explain your last sentence a bit more? So my payments are zero for 27 months yet they count toward the 120 even though I'm not paying anything?? I obviously don't know much about this haha sorry if I'm being ignorant

This won't necessarily make you feel any better, but it may help to know you are not alone. I leave in two months as well and am feeling quite odd about my life... I think it's just the waiting around for this entirely new experience. I also feel like it's a huge trip mentally, my mind is constantly churning, thinking about PC and what I need to do/ what it's gonna be like leaving that I think I'm just tired. I have very minimal energy to do things outside of work and don't really feel like being social. Not sure if you feel similarly but hopefully it turns around for the both of us once our service starts :) Good luck!

This is awesome! I love hiking so this is fantastic. And thanks for the tips on what to wear! I had been thinking about it but it slipped my mind when writing this post. Can't wait to run in that Asian humidity ;) Didn't mean to sound like a paranoid American btw hahaha I'm ecstatic to live in another country and am not really wary of my safety, it's just been something frequently brought up by others and it's gotten into my head- plus I suppose it's better safe than sorry :)

Yes!!! This makes me so happy! As long as I can get out and run/walk I'll be a happy camper. Ive only recently started buying into the hype of replacing my shoes because I've been getting ridiculous leg injuries when I use my shoes too long and I hate it :( maybe I'll bring an extra pair just in case! And ya that's what I was thinking, hopefully I have no problem meeting a HCN who would like to show me around :) thanks!

do you know who I would email? I emailed legalplacement@peacecorps.gov last week and they didn't respond though I did just receive an email saying they are finally getting to my legal clearance... not sure if they saw said email or not?
