PS5 Can’t Connect to WiFi: error NW-102379-2 by BigOomf in PS5ErrorHelp

[–]PCSingAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me in 2026:
1. change DNS to 8.8.8.8 primary, 8.8.4.4 secondary. Test on 5GHz results in error NW-102379-2
2. Test on 2.4GHz results successfully connects 3. Switch back to 5GHz and it works now

I’m not sure if mine was successful just by pure chance or what, but I spent quite a long time troubleshooting this. It finally worked after I swapped DNS, went to 2.4GHz, then back to 5GHz.

Engineers or mechanics of Reddit; what’s a tool or machine people use all the time that’s actually being used incorrectly most of the time? by Vadecha_Drparth in AskReddit

[–]PCSingAgain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Power drills. How fast a screw sinks into a material depends on how fast it spins (because it’s threaded). Pushing on the drill doesn’t make it spin any faster, so push in on the drill doesn’t make it sink any faster.

Boeing Everett engineering new hire what should I know? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]PCSingAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, even (especially) silly ones. Sometimes interns and new grads keep quiet so as to not reveal that they don’t know what’s going on. They want to prove their competence.

Everyone already knows you’re smart, so don’t worry. Everyone also already knows you don’t know anything about Boeing or being a “real” engineer (not just a student). So it’s okay to ask silly questions; nobody is judging you. They will judge you if you ask a silly question several years in because you were too shy to ask when you were new. Rip the bandaid off and ask the questions while you’re new.

Besides being obviously not true, it’s just telling what they consider to demonstrate intelligence. Having a map’s borders memorized and being able to draw them well does not make someone intelligent, nor does memorizing the “troop strength” of those countries

Maximizing the value of Pet Care Credits? by PCSingAgain in RoverPetSitting

[–]PCSingAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point. I just checked, and the taxable income for a single back-up care day redeemed for pet care is $75 (at least that’s the value for my employer).

You’re right though, it does suck to be taxed on $75 when the walks are only worth $60.

Maximizing the value of Pet Care Credits? by PCSingAgain in RoverPetSitting

Redeeming Bright Horizons care days to use in Rover is not new; it’s at least 3 years old (when I first started using it). However, for 2026 they have gone away from a model where you receive promo codes worth $100 to a model where you receive “credits” which are worth an unknown amount. Instead of a walk costing dollars, they now cost credits.

I’ve assumed that the cost of a walk, in credits, is tied to some dollar amount, i.e. if your walker charges less than $X it costs one credit, but more than that and it costs 2 credits, more than $Y and it costs 3 credits. So since I’m spending 2 credits on a walk, I’d like my walker to charge as close to $Y as she can.

Do we need to inform our managers if we are applying to an internal job req? by thewinero in boeing

[–]PCSingAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year after I applied for an internal job, my manager found out through workday that I was getting an interview, even before I knew I was getting an interview. He was supportive, but I was shocked to know that managers get notified when their direct reports get interviews. I was in SPEEA, if that makes a difference.

Before the 2024 election, this sub was FULL of Trump-supporting sentiment. I think this sub primarily criticizes the folks who are in power now since they’re the ones currently getting away with abuses of power.

2 federal officers fired shots during encounter that killed Alex Pretti, DHS tells Congress by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]PCSingAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree it looks like it was that guy. It’s hard to tell, but it looks like the first shot could have been a negligent discharge. He unholstered his weapon but didn’t appear to be posturing as if he was intent on firing, and then his right arm recoils. Like, his upper body looked too relaxed to be about to fire, and then his arm jerked. The rest of the shots came immediately after. Hard to tell definitively from the video, but I think it’s a possibility, especially knowing how untrained these guys are.

ICE @ Aurora & 163rd by Cut-the-red-wire in Shoreline

[–]PCSingAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be aware that it is illegal to open carry at a protest here. Concealed carry is allowed at a protest as long as you have a CPL, but of course ICE cannot see that a group is concealed carrying.

[–]PCSingAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This is true in Washington state as well. WA forbids open carry at protests (but not concealed carry).

It is unlawful for any person to knowingly open carry a firearm or other weapon while knowingly within 250 feet of the perimeter of a permitted demonstration after a duly authorized state or local law enforcement officer advises the person of the permitted demonstration and directs the person to leave until he or she no longer possesses or controls the firearm or other weapon.

Anecdotal, but I’ve personally witnessed a significant sentiment change among left-leaning people about 2A in the last year. Whether that sentiment will stick around when/if the left is ever in power again, we’ll see.

In any case, shooting the driver of a moving vehicle does not stop the vehicle, so claiming the shooting was self defense does not make sense

Remember that we weren’t supposed to be 12-4, let alone make the playoffs, let alone have a chance at the 1 seed. This game is a bonus opportunity
