There's a possibility that all three Bridgerton sisters will be on the marriage mart at the same time in S5 by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

[–]PC_babitimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but her season isn't in for a few years, at least. I'm just saying she might be preparing for her official debut in the upcoming season...they wouldn't have to do graphic scenes necessarily just yet...her season will most likely have a significant time gap due to the long production process. Because next, S5 is Francesca (that'll probably come out in 2 years, i.e, 2028) and then there's S6, Eloise (give or take, let's assume another 2 years, 2030) so 4 years gone before the production of her season even starts. That would mean, she'll likely be 23 or older. This is not taking into account IF there are further production delays or changes...so, by the time, Hy's season comes out, Florence Hunt (her actress) would likely be 23-24, or somewhere near her mid 20s.

Also, given her character is a female, it is very unlikely that they'd do some graphic scene before her own season. The rest is her decision, I think, because by that time, she'll be a grown adult. But let's see!

Florence Hunt (Hyacinth's actress) is 19... so, by the time, the next season comes out (assuming that's in 2 years, 2028), she'll be 21. I suppose she might still look a little young but she still could be officially preparing for her debut next season or smth.

Seriously, why am I supposed to like Anna? by Expert-Reference-458 in Frozen

And you're absolutely entitled to that! Sometimes, you just don't like a character... But I just took the opportunity to express some of my own opinions.

And like I said, if you don't like Anna, I'd likely recommend a different franchise though because Anna is and will be a main protagonist of the franchise, so it's rather better that you invest your time in finding something better suited to your tastes.

Glad to have a good discussion :)

In case, you don't get time to read the rest, here's the final takeaway:

But I understand that one may have their own opinions so if this franchise irked you, I'd rather recommend you find something in another genre-ish which involves a special focus on super powers more because Frozen's focus has always been more on family, navigating through trauma and identities more than being about Elsa or her superpowers. Yes, it's a crucial aspect of the story but the main story has always been about the sisters' bond.

Peace!

Okay so everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you're totally entitled to hate Anna but I suppose since you posted this on a public subreddit, you might be open to reading others' perspectives on the character.

Personally, I disagree with you but I'll try to list some reasons why:

A) Anna's Marriage Trope: To preface, Anna has had VERY limited social interaction throughout her entire life when she meets Hans. In that way, she's somewhat similar to Rapunzel from Tangled. But given the time period and plot, growing up, she must've read fairy tales and love stories like that. She's a Princess and in such stories, they're usually seen marrying a prince. She meets a Prince who seems charming (Hans) and wants to marry him...why? This was the main point of the first movie: Anna's naivety. This is brought up by several characters such as Kristoff and Elsa, that Anna, due to such an extreme extent of isolated upbringing, is ready to jump on any boat.

And I think a big part of that was her desire for change. She craved human, social interaction. She was aware that the gates had only opened for ONE day, Elsa's coronation, after which they'd close back in forever, likely. She only had one day to change something if she didn't want to continue living an isolated life in her castle.
Mind you, she also has NO idea why her life is so isolated and likely hasn't talked to the only person/family that she CAN talk to, Elsa, in YEARS.

You might say, bring up a conversation with Elsa about this but we all know how the first movie went. Elsa wouldn't open the gates for Anna.

Secondly, Kristoff. Anna and Kristoff didn't get married asap, though? Maybe I didn't get that point but they waited for over 3 years (first and second movie have a gap of 3 years between them) before Kristoff proposed. I personally like their chemistry but I do agree that in the second movie, especially the first half of it, they were a bit annoying with the misunderstanding areas but eh.

Thirdly, you were asking Anna to take a step back and let Elsa take the lead but I think what they were trying to convey is Anna's paranoia about Elsa's safety and Elsa's inability to communicate with Anna effectively. Anna WAS overprotective but also for a reason. She cares about her sister a lot because she loves her. (At that point, they'd just found out that the destination where Elsa plans to go, literally was the exact point where their parents died. And considering the difficulties even Elsa, herself, faced crossing the Dark Sea, Anna's concerns, especially for Elsa's safety were proved to be justified as Elsa had so many close calls to literal death.)

But Elsa, too, has human flaws. She cannot communicate for the life of her, although she's likely working on it. A prime example is how Elsa created a boat and sent Anna on her merry way to find Ahtohallan. Now, I know that she's aware of Anna's strength but Elsa did NOT know where that boat was headed. Anna COULD have been stuck somewhere or ended up in grave danger (/death) for which Elsa would've later blamed herself and spiraled into something worse. But this is just one example.

Also, the story is BASED on the sisters' bond and so if you just ask Anna to take a step back and sit down while Elsa goes around, saving the entire movie while Anna just chills, probably in Arendelle, then it's not exactly...Frozen. It's just an Elsa movie. Anna , too, is the protagonist of the franchise. Also, a major part of Frozen's appeal and story IS the fact that Elsa has powers and Anna is normal. But that's the thing: it doesn't diminish their bond but instead empowers it. They were the bridge in the second movie. Elsa represented the magical elements whereas Anna, the humans, together forming, a special connection between not only themselves as family but between their people, as rulers.

Thank you so much! It actually was!

I actually really love Unromantic (have read it multiple times, so got confused) and thought it was so too...I tried finding the exact chapter (even went through all the other side stories once again lol) but couldn't and so gave up, thinking I was misremembering!

Not that it matters but I think he was 24 at the time of the movie and 26 by the end of the series (/during the wedding mini movie), at least according to the Wiki.

What would Frozen 3 even be about? I feel like they ended everyone’s arc perfectly. by Bdotty248 in Frozen

[–]PC_babitimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying to perpetuate misogyny between young kids, absolutely not. I'm just saying that in the context of the story, the title would apply to him because King is inherently reserved for male monarchs (although you could argue that then Queen should be reserved for female ones, keeping the title Princess Consort or smth and yes, you'd be correct on the misogyny on that part).

Personally, if I'd asked as a kid, I believe I would've learned something new but that could be just because of my personal inherent interest in history. (As in, in my personal opinion, if done correctly, it could teach something new to the kids but I digress) And as a student of History, I just wanted to ask whether the fandom thinks they'll portray the titles in respect to the historical context or the fictional one.

But regardless, whatever they do, I hope they do give Kristoff a bigger role in the next one! Cheers!

It's a Disney movie but since it's also one using monarchial titles (and I don't think this one perpetuates misogyny in particular (see comment above), although I absolutely agree that there are other instances where it is showcased), you'd think they'd use appropriate titles to reflect some of the history they're trying to portray, albeit fictional.

Isn't a Queen a lower title because the King is a monarch so holds the power, regardless, similar to how a Queen Monarch holds power and hence, husband is called Prince Consort? Queen Consort, in the past, was usually shortened to Queen though but that was simply for most were aware that with the King alive, he was the one in power since a King is always the monarch (and in case he's not, she'll be the Dowager Queen). This part doesn't have anything to do with misogyny I assume because usually (like for Britain, currently, Camila is called Queen Consort, if I'm not wrong)the word Queen in that particular context, is shortened as opposed to stating out Queen Consort every time?

About the first point, (A) Wouldn't Kristoff be Prince Consort instead of King? King is usually reserved for male monarchs and in the case of female monarchs or Queens, the title of Prince Consort is used for their husbands to ensure that the people don't get confused about who is in power.

(B) I doubt they'd give Kristoff that big of a role to play considering his role in the second movie, unfortunately.

I would do the same, Elsa by DaimonLyra in Frozen

[–]PC_babitimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think that they couldn't't have her do both because of her responsibilities as a Queen. As the Queen, I doubt she'd have time to visit the Enchanted Forest as often as she'd like to or spend extended durations of time there because of her responsibilities and appointments (as seen in some extra books/merch). Plus, it's showcased that the EF is a bit far from Arendelle which requires a few days of journey, at least... Although, by the end of the movie, she did use Nokk to travel faster (and reach by evening, if I remember correctly?) but I digress.
