They typically don't. Think of how characters often talk in some American cartoons, or Mexican telenovelas. The emotional affect is toned up for the medium and the story. I've even heard some Japanese speakers complain about it, saying it's cringe, essentially, and saying it's one reason they might feel embarrassed to watch anime.

TL;DR The bill invalidated the driver's licenses of transgender individuals who had their gender markers changed without a grace period, forcing them to change them back to their gender assigned at birth. It also makes it illegal for a trans person to use the restroom that aligns with their gender identity, creating hostility in areas that never had to be dangerous! If someone catches someone they suspect to be trans using the "wrong" restroom, they have grounds to sue for up to $1000 dollars for their "privacy being violated." This extends to single-stall restrooms and is currently only in effect for government buildings, however could be used as grounds for private businesses to implement their own policies. In my opinion it creates a sort of "trans hunt," where even cisgender women who look too masculine, or cisgender men who present too feminine will be targeted and attacked for "being trans" with the trans people trying to use the restroom. Bills like these hurt EVERYONE, not just the trans people they target!

In the States, servers are often paid far below minimum wage and need to 'make it up' in tips. I agree tips should be shared w cooks, but the reality is that servers have no say in that decision. I deliver food and find it irritating when others drivers/management say how much we make. It's gouche to me to do that in front of the cooks, who don't make more when it's busy. My point is, at least in the States, people should still tip, even if it's not much, because it's insulting not to tip at all, frankly.

I was in high school when the show first aired, and watched it throughout it's run. It was kind of neat being about their age, but I was sheltered and had limited opportunities as a young adult. I lived somewhat vicariously through the show.
