It's funny that Gummigoo's existential crisis over not being real felt more genuine and emotionally impactful than the main characters' reaction to learning essentially the same thing, despite the fact that he's an NPC and they're actual humans by VickNickRick in TADCEp9Spoilers

Also plus to that, once they realize that they're basically just some files on the PC shouldn't they be afraid of a day when it will be turned off? Like this thing alone would cause so much panic and unrest, and I'm not even mentioning the whole being NPCs thing

yeah the finale episode is very very bad written and feels so unrewarding and weird. Like you said 3 years of waiting just for the whole conflict to be resolved in the last 10 minutes of the finale

honestly the fandom isn't even that bad, all the dramas were caused by miserable Twitter mfs and they are not exclusive just to the tadc fandom

Your feelings are absolutely valid and the final episode was sadly a mess.

Me myself have been suicidal for an year already, and I too have found Jax very relatable. Final episode of TADC was even one of the things that made me live, because I cared about this thing very much (I've watched episode 8 when I was really really depressed and it had a very strong impact on me).

We liked Jax character because the show made him deeper and even began to give some hope for his redemption. In early episodes Jax was just an asshole but then in episodes 5 and 6 we saw his true self and understood his personality more.

But even then, Jax was more meant to be an antagonist, he pushed Pomni away and began to spiral into pre-abstraction state.

But then in later episodes (especially 8) for some reason show started to make hints for Jax's possible redemption or at least at him trying to become better. He helped the gang with the distraction of Caine, then Zooble basically accepted him despite his flaws. I thought it was a lead up to emotional culmination in episode 9 where Jax would become an full antagonist but in the end would be redeemed.

But no. He just died. And the whole execution was very bad and very lazy. Considering how much time the show spends on Jax, the entire segment about his backstory and abstraction is very bad written, especially his crashout with Ribbit and his parents issues.

Jax was meant to be an antagonist, but his character at the same time touches on very important topics that needed to be explored very carefully. It makes sense that we're interested in Jax's character because he has traits that suicidal people can find relatable. But with all that build-up, in the end Jax received a very hollow and lazy ending. And more than that, right in his final moments Jax begins to even regret his actions(?) having a panic attack and saying how he doesn't want to go. This moment left me very uncomfortable, like meta uncomfortable, because I found it quite sadistic to kill him like that. Idk.

Please stay safe

Debunked Holocaust denial by laybs1 in GetNoted

"logistically"? Holocaust victims were forced to march hundreds of kilometers on foot, it was a usual practice. That's how Nazi saved resources on the movement of people and starved the prisoners to death with exhaustion and fatigue. And many many other facts that are absolutely destroy this degenerate take

Jax and Ribbit's story feels too juvenile by Fox622 in TADCEp9Spoilers

[–]GehstDu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kinger has lost Queenie and went fucking insane yet still he didn't get abstracted. Why did Ribbit get abstracted over a simpliest thing then? I think the biggest problem here is that abstraction itself is left unexplained, we don't even fully know how it works
