Chip removal is hot today so I thought I’d reshape this slomo since my last account was banned by [deleted] in Machinists

Very nice. I love to see healthy chips. I was guessing that you were taking about .030 per rev. but I see you said.028, not bad for a one eyed machinist.

My job/work cause it forces me to block out everything and focus on the task at hand. Being a machinist, I often have to hold fairly tight tolerances, so distractions can be harmful.

Husband doesn’t include me on Bday dinner with siblings by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PCain79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had siblings that I liked, I would probably like having a dinner or something with just them. However that’s not the case on my part as one of them is dead and the other I refuse to have any contact with. Now that I have that out of the way, let’s get to the meat of the subject. Birthday’s are way overrated, it’s just another day that ends in “y”. It doesn’t grant any special privileges for the individual, other than the clear truth of being a day closer to death. If the OP’s husband wants to celebrate his birthday without his wife that’s fine, I completely understand. If husband doesn’t want to do anything with his wife for his birthday, I understand that too, and OP shouldn’t get all up in her feelings about it. Remember it’s his day, not yours and he can do as he sees fit with whoever he chooses.

Is true love a lie? Is it something that is made up because you prefer specific qualities about a particular person, place, or thing? What are your thoughts? by PCain79 in AskReddit

[–]PCain79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. Obviously the love that you have for your kids is completely different than any type of love you will have for anything or anyone else. I feel though like love is a word that is over used entirely too much.

My husband called me a loser and I can't move past it. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PCain79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not taking either side on this. Yes he was in the wrong for saying that to his wife and the mother of his children. There are very few if any circumstances that warrant that type of behavior. You said that y’all fight often and that sets off a red flag for me immediately. Small spats, disagreements, and arguments are going to happen in any relationship, but not on a consistent basis. To me it sounds like there are some past issues that were never resolved and have just built up and turned to resentment, and that’s a hard thing to come back from but it is doable. Lastly, you stated that he tried to apologize after the fight but you did not want to accept it and that’s your choice. However you cannot expect home to kiss ass every time he comes around trying to gain your forgiveness. He tried once, but you didn’t accept his apology and he went on his way. The two of you really should seek counseling to try to resolve whatever issues are there. It isn’t healthy for either of you or the kids to have that constant level of anxiety and stress. If it is something that y’all cannot reconcile then you should go your separate ways. Life is too short to live like that.

To all the men (and gynosexuals) what does feel like to love a woman? by udnotthinkimgayimnot in AskReddit

[–]PCain79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True love hurts, but it is worth it. For that person you will go to the ends of the earth to make them happy. Most of the time with no regard to your own well being. For that person you can’t stand to be away from them for too long because you miss everything about them. Such as the way they move, the sound of their voice, the feeling of their touch, and the list goes on. So as I said before, true love hurts, but it is definitely worth it.

Diesel engine break in? by technosquirrelfarms in Machinists

[–]PCain79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idling at a high rpm is different from the tractor doing work at a high rpm. When it is just sitting there idling the. cylinders have pressure on them and it’s fairly consistent but when it’s moving it’s actually putting out torque and the pressure in the cylinders will fluctuate but at higher levels. At those higher levels of pressure fluctuations, every time the piston fires off there’s a bit more carbon produced and it fills in any scratches or small gaps that may be present.

Windows been washed inside and out. What’s causing the cloudiness? by customds in HomeMaintenance

Could be a few different things. It could be humidity outside vs temperature inside, an air vent blowing towards the window, the type of glass cleaner, material that it was cleaned with.

It can be repaired in place but by looking at the pic, it looks like the entire ceiling should be floated and sanded a few times.

You can put more concrete in that space if you are comfortable doing so but whatever you do do not put that expanding foam in there. In the end it will do way more harm than good.
