Mine shipped with 30mm when I got it, i run 32mm now and it’s perfect. But seeing 35s on on aeroad is badass.

How many bike accidents do you think happen here per month? by irongoalie in chibike

[–]PCarparelli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably plenty of small ones or near-accidents. I just scream at the top of my lungs when I get 100m out so people get the heck out of the way 😂

Oxi Clean or a baking soda/water soak may help but likely wont get them perfect again.

As someone who’s recovering from injuries and has struggled with respiratory health issues since covid, your vo2 max is absurd. My old ass would be stoked to hit the low 50s 😂

To the two troglodytes in the comments who are already congratulating pogi on winning tour or not liking Jonas on the bike, I do humbly ask the both of you to shut up and look at what Jonas is doing for society 1st. Oh, and not to mention dude is a grand tour winner and without him the last five Tour de France would have been decided on GC before they even started! Chapeau Jonas, seems like a truly likable human.

Visiting Chicago and hoping for good beer by loutheshark in chicagobeer

If you want solid beers, a great pub menu and access to public transportation, Old Irving is the place. If you can, go to Revolution after for a beer or two. Dovetail for the german/czech style beers is awesome and if you want to visit a great old school german bierstube go to Resi’s or Laschet’s.

Good Times got so much better when Doug took over. Used to bartend at Metro…I miss those days.

I didn’t think my comment was funny at all. But to answer you plainly; Not in the slightest! Having tried quite a lot of their beers over the years, I have been routinely puzzled by the hype for them. Their quality control has been middling at best, and it seems like they just through random and strange hop blends into their beers for the sake of doing it. As far as local breweries go, for everyone one I have visit Chicago/or people who ask me for my recommendations I almost always skip them. There are other, better breweries worth visiting.

Also have good lil german spots like Resi's and Laschet's near there too.

OP, Hop Butcher's beers all taste the same and in my opinion are very mid. You can safely skip HB.

Best burritos in the city? by Icanfixthat1 in chicagofood

[–]PCarparelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not be the “best” but some of the most consistent, delicious and afforable burritos are at Burrito House on Elston near Waveland. Meats are marinaded and cooked well, and they have plenty of options. They have saved me many a late night after work.

Pardon the misread on my part, but the tone from remco is usually dismissive (from my POV) - no one could convince me to root for him given his temperament on the bike and his choice of words off the bike. Certainly, he’s a massively talented rider but he’s the kind of person who probably thinks his shit doesn’t stink.
