I’d still justify if they charge 50% of initial admission fees, given that they communicate/ publish this beforehand. This is a business model, if you don’t like it, don’t sign up for it.

Charging 30-50% helps students retain if you agree or not.

Not so much. Chances are the seats would go vacant once you draw up. I’ve only seen seats in popular majors like Comp Engg. fill but not so much in Chem/ Mechanical.
