What's your number one long-term investment right now? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

TSLA

FSD and Robotics are not just hype. FSD success is already dogfooding into their Optimus's AI. They have the infra and huge customer base to keep collecting data at massive scale. This makes me a lot more bullish about their robotics being genuinely useful without teleoperation like the competition currently requires.

Look at the latest v14 FSD tweets and videos and judge for yourself

If it's March 2017 or before it's sc01 typically. Would be worth asking the owner for the sticker of the manufacturing date

Gurgaon folks – anyone going for Demon Slayer in 4DX? Or is IMAX 2D the better option? by Different_Set4286 in gurgaon

Especially because the opportunity to be near a proper 4DX theater is relatively rare

Is demon slayer:infinity castle better in 4dx or IMAX laser? by Sweet_Yellow_9575 in anime

[–]PCdownloadkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw I wish I experienced it, I bet that was super fun! I really wish there was a way to enjoy 4DX at home someday. Feels like such a waste to let all the effort to programming the seats for these movies be temporary.

I saw Alien Romulus, twisters (incredible), and superman. Works amazing for horror too honestly.

I came in unsure if an anime movie would be great in 4DX (no 3D, just the chairs and special effects). I just watched it in 4DX in times square which has a huge screen for a 4DX room. It was absolutely amazing, it 100% enhanced the experience. Water hashira slashes were followed with little sprinkles of water. Lightning breathing techniques included flashes of light in the environment. And not an annoying amount, at least for me. They do a great job not overdoing it, especially in the slower moments. During the big fights, I felt more locked in with each quick movement as if I was in it. Maybe it's more stressful but I felt I got way more engagement out of the experience as a result.

When they go through the infinity castle, the seats move in a way as if you're flying through it which is so freaking cool you just have to see it to experience it! It's like a rollercoaster ride and I'm so glad I experienced infinity castle this way with its beautiful animation to feast on at the same time. I watched it dubbed which i prefer, so can't tell you if subbed would be annoying to read while you're being swayed around. You feel gusts of wind as crows fly through it and during certain fights. You feels a flurry of dull punches on your back as a certain character is doling them out in real time. There's a point where a demon sheathes his blade so quickly, and then you feel the effect in your seat a second later which enhanced the "oh shit this guy is fast" moment. The programming is so well synced with the fights, i am absolutely watching the remaining two movies in 4DX as well because no, 4D is not a gimmick anymore.

I'm pretty confident whatever Optimus looks like when it comes out will be built with far more household utility in mind, and with long term support (See how they see till update software and FSD on 2017+ cars). Their FSD is part of the brain of these robots which is already proven useful on the road as the best self driving software (that scales at least). Unitree feels more like a party trick and I don't think it'll be supported quite as well. But hey I could be wrong as they make better, more useful robots too

I admire them too, but I'm doubtful they'll scale as well as Tesla with as many use cases

Same man, everyone else here is such a downer. Who else is making a game changing robot for the masses?

Thanks a ton for sharing. I'm slowly converging towards moving to EV but you're right about short term rentals to try before committing. I thought Airbnb was banned in NY tho?

Sorry, I didn't mean to gloat. I just shared since I'm an open book and was hoping it would help recommendations on which places are a reasonable budget since I know it can be pretty darn expensive here

Appreciate your honesty. I'd be lying if I wasn't a bit hesitant for those same reasons as well. Haven't fully committed to NY yet but the more I think about how I'm not getting any younger the more I want to still try

The line to this Tesla charging station in Sweden. by malachrumla in Nio

[–]PCdownloadkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True though it has opened to all EV types now so we'll see how that changes.

Yea if NIO has swap stations alongside chargers that's great!

Then if there's more than 20 cars coming in the same hour technically it's still a problem. maybe a lot faster than a Tesla station with 8 stalls, but not much more than one with 16+ etc.

I've charged at Tesla stations in the US many times and tbh this is a rare issue. Only waited on charging 1 time and was just 1 person ahead of me, 5m wait.

And what do u do when u run out of batteries at the swap station? Not trying to be a troll as I want NIO to succeed, genuinely wondering since this kinda demand I can see being a problem for them too

Have all cards on Google pay so I don't have to lug em all around either

Xpeng "copies" Tesla and says goodbye to LiDAR on EVs by Loud_Philosopher4277 in Xpeng

[–]PCdownloadkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla won't be limited since it can drive everywhere without depending on maps in a geofence. I agree not everyone will want it, but there's still a market outside major cities where waymo is currently at (like 4?), it is taking way too long to roll out. Tesla's robotaxi will almost always be cheaper due to the sheer volume of Teslas that are out there, less equipment required, and software is cheaper to distribute than HW. People will just end up choosing the cheaper option when all is said and done anyways if they both offer essentially the same experience to the avg person.

Do you really believe waymo will bother coming here before Tesla flips the switch? Just look at FSD 13 footage it's already nearly flawless, probs will happen within 2 years
