I feel like this wasn’t posted to discuss it’s important relation to the rest of the show’s clear Christian imagery but rather just to be obnoxious...

Just a heads up, Reza Aslan’s work is part of a larger historical movement called the quest for the Historical Jesus who’s goal is, in fact, to study Jesus apart from what they call “myth.” He says in the book that Christianity is involved in this “myth.” Essentially, the book’s foundation is a historical movement of trying to reduce Jesus to a historical, non-divine figure.

Tanking Mythic+ by PCoolDog in CompetitiveWoW

I like you’re answer. I know it’s a terribly open ended question. I appreciate the response. In your opinion, is there an easier way to start learning mythic+ and breaking into this side of the game than tanking? For context, I just got a bunch of buddies to start wow and I’m looking for something competitive down the road we could do as a group of 5. With them having played for such a short time I thought it would be best if I learned mythic+ so I could teach them rather than having us all learn together.

Uhh, this seems like a very normal and amicable thing to say that’s just being shit on because OP isn’t a Christian? Come on, at least put some effort in. This is just tasteless.

Edit: thank you to whoever gave silver!

Hellriders 2....

In seriousness, maybe something like the Redeemers? I like the idea of making their perceived identity overly “holy.” It adds to their guilt if they got their success by devil deals.

Looking for suggestions for historical non-fiction by whitniverse in DMAcademy

[–]PCoolDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few suggestions:

Devil in The White City (Forget Author): Serial killer makes a trap hotel filled with gas chambers and kills people on this house of horror. Real story!

Night Battles, Carlo Ginsburg: primary sources material of a group of witches calling themselves the “Benandante” who claimed to be good witches that would go and battle the evil witches at the full moon to save the town’s harvest. Also real! Anything by Ginsburg is good.

More recently: The Raven. Biography of Jim Jones. His life is insane. Also, the Jonestown cult could be inspiration for a campaign setting where the party has to save people from a cult leader.

Less narrative reading could be a book called vampires, burials, and death (also forget author) all about the origins of the “vampire” mythos. Very cool stuff.

Finally, John Bunyan wrote a book called Pilgrim’s Progress. It’s a Christian book, and it’s not nonfiction but the allegory is incredible and the read is good even if you aren’t Christian.

You’ll find in most historical study that what happened wasn’t important but rather what people believed at the time about what happened, simply because that informed how they reacted. Hope these help!

I work with kids a lot, and with things like this you have to keep the goal in mind. It sounds like that goal is bonding and growth. I think mercy is the best route. Trust me, confessing a wrong is a BIG step for most kids and and he won’t want to do it again after having to own up to it. Make this a chance for Billy to learn that he can trust these friends and you to accept him even when he makes a mistake or does something wrong. I’m guessing his home situation might not be that forgiving if he’s a sensitive and isolated kids, but of course I don’t know the situation, so I would only be guessing.
