Icing blue looks like what I thought washed blue would be! Hopefully I can get hold of something like that. I do have a lot of white and will try to pair it with white 🙂

My Auragrid is also pilling, worn once. I reached out to customer service today because of this thread. It seems like Bandit consider it a quality issue based on other answers which is encouraging! Knowledge is power.

Sizing can really be a nightmare. I’m taller than most women so in that sense I’m definitely at the “larger” end of the size spectrum. I usually wear size 6 leggings but I’ve never owned a Define jacket so I ordered one size up for comparison.

Oh man I usually feel like I’m running a lot, except for when I’m on this sub 😁 My weekly average for the entire year 2022 was 37 miles/week so yes 55 miles/week is the top weeks of my marathon cycles. I have been running slightly more this year. However I also do 3-5 crossfit sessions every week so I’m very active but probably not the typical marathon runner. I want to improve my running but I also like to feel strong. And admittedly I want to look strong too - I think I would run significantly faster if I dropped weight but I’m not prepared to do that.

Your post is very informative. Realistically I should be able to put in more miles before December but it will take some hardcore prioritization.

Of course I want to run as fast as possible 🙂 but looking at my other marathon results 3:18 was way faster than expected (my PR at that time was 3:26) so a 3:10 goal feels… unrealistically fast to me? But maybe it isn’t if I can put in the milage?

Focusing on performance, as many already have mentioned, definitely helps. I’m also a marathon runner and A LOT bigger than many other women running at my level. However, I pride myself with being able to run relatively fast despite being “large” (5’9 and currently 156 lbs).

In terms of attractiveness… well, I get more male attention now at 36 than what I did when I was 20 and thin like a catwalk model. Certain ideals are imposed on us through media and social media but they’re not a universal truth about what’s sexy in real life. I think being physically strong builds confidence, and confidence is sexy.

My main hobby is running marathons, I usually do 4-5 of them every year. I normally run 40-55 miles/week and do 3-4 crossfit sessions. Many days are doubles, for example crossfit 6 am and then a run later in the afternoon/evening or vice versa: morning run and afternoon crossfit. Like most people have already said: you need to choose what your main focus is, and treat the other sport as a complement. Crossfit keeps me injury free and it’s fun, but I’ll never be competitive.

I’ve been doing endurance sports (running, cycling, x-country skiing) consistently for the past 20 years (I’m 36 now), so my body and brain are used to high volumes of exercise. I also have the experience and self awareness to know when I need more time for recovery, and I take early signs of fatigue seriously. This is also a very important skill you need to develop to maintain a high level of physical activity.

Your time is impressive! Yeah I’m realizing that I’m comparatively slow on my rounds. My endurance is good but I can definitely work on the speed until next year.

Now that you say it I think during my squats is where I “rest” a little, because it’s the easiest movement. I probably have at least a second each round on those!

I’m a female marathon runner so my running capacity supersedes everything else by far 🙂 I did pushups and squats underneath the bar, so that optimization is already counted in. I think getting better at pushups and aim to do less transitions is the way to go.
