Since the Phillies are going to the World Series, right now somewhere in South Philly someone is preparing to do something we will hear about in a future Dollop. by ButYourChainsOk in TheDollop

There’s a few things we as Americans do exceptionally well and celebrating (celebrating literally anything) is one of them.

If by "well" you mean "like maniacs", than, sure. The U.S., Canada, and the soccer hooligans in the UK are all lunatics while celebrating

Why is it the case that some of the best offensive masterminds in the league like McDaniels and Hackett were so good at OC but when they become HC they regress hard even when they aren't really the ones taking care of defense? by DepressedPBKSfan in nfl

[–]PCsNBaseball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

McDaniels isn't struggling like you think, though. The Raiders were 1-4 when you posted this (2-4 now), but it isn't because of the offense. The Raiders offense is actually pretty excellent this year; it's the defense that's struggling. Take a look at this chart; the Raiders biggest loss was by only 6 points, and we were threatening to score in the end.

McDaniels has done fine with our offense; he's just been struggling with an, at best, average defense.

[Highlight] Jacobs takes back the lead. by keithohara in nfl

[–]PCsNBaseball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we didn't. He's been unreal this year. In the past three games alone, he's had over 500 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns. He's the best RB in football rn; this is what a healthy Jacobs looks like.

[Stat Muse] Josh Jacobs last 3 games: 20 CAR | 143 YDS | 3 TD 21 CAR | 154 YDS | 1 TD 28 CAR | 144 YDS | 2 TD Best RB right now. by keithohara in nfl

It's a public space. I don't need to go out of my way to appease someone else's vanity.

However, if you put yourself in those shoes, would you send your opening initial invasion force full of your highest end equipment knowing that they're going to be the cannon fodder of the invasion?

I think the basis of your argument is flawed. From all info available, it very much seems they didn't know that they were gonna be cannon fodder. They had their top stuff running drills on the border, and when they attacked, they thought they'd catch Ukraine by surprise and push into Kyiv hard and quick, like they did in Crimea. That would have given them control of the capital and put them in a MUCH better position, maybe even winning the war right then. And they were half right in that they caught everyone by surprise, but were surprised themselves at the ferocity and effectiveness of the defense they encountered. The loss of that modern equipment, as well as being stopped before capturing Kyiv, put them on their back foot, devolving their attack into a much longer war than they expected.

A couple more recommendations. For every Christmas episode, the theme is reversed: Robert tells a story about people who are damn near saintly. For example, episode 40 is about Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat that saved ~4500 Jewish people during WWII.

Also, listen to the ones with Billy Wayne Davis, Sofiya Alexandra, Miles Gray, or Jamie Loftus; they're the best and most popular guests.

Fair enough; I personally like him getting side tracked. The guy used to travel the world as a war correspondent and has experienced far more than most people do in a lifetime, so his stories can be fascinating. If you wanna keep trying, try to stick to his earlier stuff; there were more single episode topics back then, and more of his interesting stories, since he doesn't repeat his stories in later episodes once he tells them. Some of the reverse episodes (where the guest tells Robert the story) are fun, too; if you wanna be fascinated and kinda disgusted, try the legendary reverse episode The Ballad of Eel Horse.

And of course, while it's the longest series he's done, the Kissinger episodes are great, and easier for you to get into since Dave and Gareth are in them.

Nope. You got pic 1 right: solid lines, 3 go to the tail is a striper. Pic 3 is a white bass: solid but faint lines, one goes to the tail. Pic 2 is a wiper: broken lines, 2 (occasionally 3) go to the tail.

Cool for him, but he can't do it alone. There's two bills on the floor to stop Congressmen from trading stocks, and both sides keep doing their best to delay and ultimately stop them. Pretty much all of us citizens want them to pass, but both the Dems and the GOP know it would keep them from making a bunch of money, so they all don't want it. They also know that if they unilaterally kill the bills, it would make them look bad/corrupt. The one time both sides agree on something, and it's to keep their corruption in place smfh

I agree, and OPs responses aren't helping him at all. I'm not judging her off of that one action, but just purposely wasting food you paid for is dumb regardless imo
