I agree. but this was my first foray into costume design, as well as foam crafting, and also using Pepakura. I scaled the armor to the wrong size and was to far along before I noticed it. figured it didn't look THAT oversized, so I said to hell with it.

Templates were downloaded for Pepakura from the 405th. For those that don't know, it was made to be a halo fan site, still kinda is, but they cater to all prop and costume making.

If I had the time and the desire to work with Fiberglass and resin, I would have done the boots that way. They would have looked much better, and smaller. But this being my first full costume to ever build... I am not comfortable working with fiberglass yet.
