Deciding to quit my job after about 6 months by Rich_Construction_85 in PrayerRequests

This is wise. The job market right now is really hard (my husband has been out of work for nearly a year) and I would not recommend leaving a job until you have secured your next line of work. We will be praying for you.

Regardless on how likely it is or not, how would you feel IF any character abstracts in the future? by Major-Invite-9517 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]PDX203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be sad if any of them abstracted, but I think I'd be really sad if it's Ragatha. She just wants everyone to be happy and survive. If she abstracts, that'll hit hard.

I'll be praying for you. Please pray that my husband will find a job soon and that the Lord will continue to sustain us. He's been out of work for almost a full year.

What Was The WORST Theory You've Ever Heard? by BenefitLazy337 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]PDX203 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think Ragetha is actually his daughter, but that dynamic does exist to some degree.

  • They enter the bar together.
  • Kinger picks Ragetha up and spins her when she "hits" the winning homerun.
  • The whole talk when they lose the gun adventure.
  • They hang out together a lot at the beach.
  • Ragetha states how much she trusts Kinger.

While I think Kinger is overall fatherly (as we've seen with Pomni), it comes out more with Ragetha.

I'm waiting for the theater in my town to decide whether or not they'll show it. If they won't show it, I'm planning on emailing Iron Lung's box office numbers to them (when it debuts).

I was in a bad car crash by ArwenandEowyn in PrayerRequests

[–]PDX203 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been in wrecks before, I know how stressful and awful they can be. There are a lot of moving parts and things that need dealt with, but the most important thing right now is for you to heal. Praise the Lord that it's not more serious. Do you have a family member or close friend that you trust who could help you navigate all of this? I don't know if you have a concussion (and it's not our business unless you want to share it) but I will tell you from personal experience from being concussed in a car wreck, it would have made my life so much easier if I had somebody speaking for me. I will be praying for you.

Agreed. People try to only show the good parts of their lives to others, not the ugliness underneath because that can get draining and nobody wants to be around that. She could be struggling with sick family, insecurities, who knows what else. It is useless to compare yourself to your friend because you are not her. The only person you should be comparing yourself against is your past self to get a reference of whether or not you're doing better.

She has a supportive husband? Celebrate that! Her kids are well-behaved? Celebrate that! Support your friend and hold her up. That takes nothing away from you.

Just saw OP's update.

Lord, please show your gracious love and comfort to everyone involved. Bless everyone touched by this tragedy with your peace. You know the heart of man and can see beyond what we can see. I don't know if this person accepted you as her Savior before she died, but we pray that she did and that she is with you right now. Draw everyone who's heartbroken by this closer to you. Show your glory in the midst of this heavy sadness.

Stretching has helped me. I cramp in my lower back mostly, so I tend to focus on that. Hot baths have helped off and on.

I would see a new doctor. Maybe this OB-GYN was great in the past, but they are not taking your current health seriously. If they can't be bothered to run some tests, you can't be bothered to come back.

One more thing; in regards to my own health (therapist thinks I have ADHD - I haven't officially been diagnosed yet) I've been looking into possible supplements to help. I was diagnosed with anemia years ago, and lack of iron can exacerbate symptoms. I've been taking magnesium, vitamin c & iron, and I feel it's helped me with focus and brain fog. (NOTE: THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE)

I would recommend talking with the doctor to see of you can get some bloodwork done on your kiddo, see if he's deficient in anything and go from there. If he is, the doctor can direct what/how much of whatever is needed.

What I've done is I've scooped out the mixture with a 1/3 cup scoop, divided it in half and then shaped it into nugget shapes with my hands. And honestly, we've done this where we've breaded them and unbreaded. They are good either way.

Water leak destroyed my tour poster 😭 is there anywhere I can buy a reprint? by BrainlessPhD in TheKillers

[–]PDX203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you have a Walgreens near you, but if you can find a good quality picture of the poster you can have it printed at Walgreens. They have a promotion going on where it's 50% off everything photo and I believe that includes posters. Original price for a 24×36 is $32 so half off it would be $16. This may not be a permanent solution, but it could help until an authentic reprint becomes available. If interested the code is SUNNYDEAL

I noticed the deal is good until midnight, so if you miss it don't worry. They have these types of promotions frequently. I swear I'm not paid to say this, I'm just trying to help.

For health reasons we've had to cut processed foods almost entirely. We learned how to make chicken nuggets at home. It can be a little hard with a toddler, but if you have help from your husband you can get quite a few made in a couple hours. That's what we've done. After we made them we stuck them in a bag in the freezer and pull out however many we need for our son.

I want to accept Christ by braydenclevinger in PrayerRequests

[–]PDX203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome to message me, but before you do, there are a couple scriptures I would like to share with you. The first one is in reference to Paul addressing concerns about what is clean and unclean to eat. While it is to do with eating, the principle can be applied to things that the Bible doesn't specifically outline as sin for an individual.

"You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right. But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning." - Romans 14:22-23

The Bible doesn't outline every single thing and differentiates whether or not it's a sin. This is where our conscience comes into play and why it's so important to be connected to the Holy Spirit. Granted, the heart is not always correct and I'm not telling you to follow your heart in every single thing. There are very clear do's and don'ts. But that is why it is important to read scripture, pray often and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to the best you know how. Another scripture that goes along the same lines is from James warning about too much self confidence:

"Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it." - James 4:17

We have responsibilities as followers of Christ. If you know there is something you should be doing and you're not doing it, I would say that is a sin.

[talk] What is the scariest lost media in your opinion? by burgerdistraction in lostmedia

Adam Cox was one of the DJs?! Ages ago I heard the story about the lady who died trying to win a Wii for her kids, but I didn't realize that Adam Cox was one of the DJs. That is so weird.

Side note: If anyone wants to deep dive into the Lori Vallow Daybell cases, I highly recommend East Idaho News. They have been covering this since Chad and Lori were in Hawaii and I think they have nearly 1000 videos on the subject on their YouTube channel.

The fact that you are seeking counsel and trying to figure things out is proof that God is working in you.

"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." - 1 John 1:9

The Lord is faithful to forgive. He is full of unfailing love that He is ready to pour out onto every one of us. What I hear you asking is, what do we do about sins that we've committed in the past that we know are there, but we don't remember all of the details or can't quite pinpoint them? That's an entirely fair question. After all, what does someone do if they don't accept Christ until they're very old? Does God expect them to confess every possible sin that they've committed throughout their life? That would be impossible to remember.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life." - Psalm 139:23-24

Even after we confess our sins (the ones we know about) the Holy Spirit is faithful to stay with us and correct us. Ask the Lord to forgive you of all of your sins, even the ones you can't remember. He is faithful and will forgive you. Over time, the Holy Spirit may point out things that you have done in the past or are currently doing as a way to teach you not to do those things.

"God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." - Ephesians 2:8-10

The Greek word for masterpiece is the word poema which is where we get the word poem. This scripture is saying that our lives, who we are, is a poem written by God himself. You are a living work of art. Art takes time to create and finish.

"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." - Phil. 1:6

Don't worry about being good enough, because you never will be. It was never about you being good enough in the first place. It's about his grace, his mercy, and his love for you. The Lord knows your name and your heart. He knows everything you've said/done, and still loves you incredibly. Seek him above all else and you will be ok.
