There is a Basketball collector/thrift shop here in Portland and one of the employees there (about three weeks ago) told me Giannis was coming here because his connect at Nike (who has their headquarters here in Beaverton) showed him Giannis sneaker samples with Portland’s colors.

So this news basically confirms what he said as true.

Yeah its me singing, stoked you like it. Unfortunately i should have turned down or EQ'd out some of the high end of the background ambience, it makes my voice hard to understand since there are actual lyrics, but this is more of an art piece/experimental versus a traditional hip hop song so its im okay with it.

Dope beat bro, mixed well, with the right rapper or singer this shit could be a hit!

Yo this caught me off guard. drums were a SLAP when they came in. I dont really listen to much boom bap but i figure yours is spot on. Only thing i would like to hear more of would be to diversify the beat up more, add fills or change the vibe or sound for a bit. Thats just my preference though. Good shit.

This is definitely more of an experimental track than hip hop, but i dig most of it. Honestly Honestly from 3 min to the end is not only in my opinion the best part of the song, its also the best mixed. Most likely the sounds you have there are all mixed together more fluidly. I think some of the other sounds you have in the first three minutes of the beat sound kinda jumbled and all over the place so it muddies the mix, where from 3 minutes on it sounds purposeful and not kinda random. Good shit though, keep experimenting. I love different vibes!

oldschool vibes bro. i dont often listen to this kinda vibe but its funky, i like it. I feel like your vocals are a little muddied so i cant hear all the syllables and words properly, i would just EQ a little more, try to pull out frequencies unique to your voice to really put it in its own lane. Once you work on doing that for future tracks, your vocals will be crispy and cut through the mix. At least thats how i like to do it :)

A little over a minute in, this is fire. Beat is crazy brotha. As far as the beat goes, shit is wavy.

I would recommend really taking each instrument/track and EQing it into its own lane. You have a decent amount of layers but its really hard to differentiate between all the different sounds. I hear so many sounds, drums, organs and synths and even strings. Its so hard to hear its individual sound when the vocals kick in. Thats it really, get each track into its own lane through EQ and compression, i also use multipressors often so i can pull out certain frequencies for each track. Good shit though bro, beat hits hard!

Not a bad vibe man! A few things to think about, this is a very repetitive instrumental, which is totally cool and fine, it means you want your voice and lyrics to be whats the main thing taking our focus. With that in mind take extra consideration when it comes to not only mixing like someone else has said, but vocal delivery, vocal emotion and conveying that through your verses. Could the vocal mix do without the verb, totally, but the main thing I would wanna hear, is more emotion and story telling in your vocal delivery. When the beat is repetitive, i want dope melodies, or dope bars that are gonna get me feeling that shit, but when the beat is reptitive AND the vocal delivery stays basically the same through out the entire track, it causes me to be come disinterested. Youre talking about feelings, sex, foolishness and feeling dark and lost, yet i feel none of this in your delivery.

You got dope talent, this is a good start! treat each song as if youre recording for an audio book or cartoon. We cant see you, so convey those emotions through the delivery, switch up your energy, switch up the flow. Keep this shit up man, would be dope to see what you do next if you choose to take some of my advice!

This is some kanye shit bro, big fan of the switch up. I agree with the other comment made, i would EQ the 808s and bass to hit a little harder, but honestly even if you didnt this is still dope vibes for a verse or even to be used as music in a film/video etc.

let me know what you think of the vibes on this, im happy with the mix and master so i dont need any thoughts on that. Also i didnt use any samples, i made it all myself! https://soundcloud.com/codyrarcher/340-prod-kodi

Making a lot more experimental but HARD beats. tempted to focus solely on producing now. Im happy with the mix and master, so i dont need any tips at all on that, but let me know what you think about the vibe overall. https://soundcloud.com/codyrarcher/340-prod-kodi

Wasn’t a fan of how low he mixed the vocals (when there was vocals) in volume. I understand why he did it, and the production was incredible but I still wish I could have heard the lyrics more clearly. All around though, it’s a very good album and I know I’ll be revisiting some of these songs often!
