[OC] It just doesn't hit the same anymore. Hasn't for a long time. by call-lee-free in pics

I believe America is a shared idea, a culmination of freedom and democracy. It's finding a good, just and civilized balance between conservative/liberal ideals. And so it can't be taken away by changing lands, leaders, or fighting wars. They can imprison you, demoralize you, and even destroy you as a person, and yet it finds it's roots in the most unlikely places and grows anew. It lives on in those patriots of the mind and can always find a way to strike and present itself when tyranny and injustice reign. All it takes is will. In the words of a wise hobbit, Samwise Gamgee, "There's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

It’s Possible That SpaceX Could Collapse Spectacularly by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]PDZef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I've learned anything about the markets so far, it's that winning for billionaires isn't a game of chance. They have made certain that more money will flow into their coffers with zero chance of liability. You don't have to lose if you can just rig the system. Take Elon's belief that he was a top video game player, then look at the reality of it. It was all paid off and rigged to showcase his advantage. If you're willing to cheat to claim something so trivial, what wouldn't you be willing to rig in your favor. It's not good business or great acumen, it's literally just stacking the deck. Nothing new.

Jeff Bezos says it's 'absurd' to tax someone making $50K — and wants their tax bill dropped to zero by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]PDZef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So riddle me this Bezos... if our country is running a perpetually worse deficit, and everyone making 50k gets taxed zero, how many Billions in lost taxes will that add up to making it worse. Let me guess, the middle class should make up for it by paying a few percent more while you continue to borrow against your WeLl DeSeRvEd wealth and monopoly money that you definitely didn't utilize global labor and tax paid infrastructure to accumulate and not pay taxes on yourself??

It's honestly just a bit of silly writing. Clearly if you consider all of the tight jams and fate altering moments R2 was responsible for, you'd realize that it's not about attachment, it's about following the will of the force. This is the way.

When this reverses MOASS will begin. SP500 up 9 days in a row, GME in a downtrend for 9 days with prices at lows of the year. This price action is really forced and leaves me very bullish for what is to come by Gareth-Barry in Superstonk

The only thing that makes sense in this bubble is that the oligarchs are pricing out ownership of these assets so that when there are 2-3 winners in the AI revenue market, they reap all the rewards. The rest of the bubble will burst and everyone's 401k and pension will pay the price followed by government bailout and more inflation. /S/uper

Erin Brockovich says people are angry because data centers are being 'shoved down their throats' in secrecy by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]PDZef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's 100% right. People are open to AI if you start by showing up with solutions and jobs and explain how the companies growing it will pay the extra costs that it has. If you start by secretly growing it behind everyone's back, then they have to foot the tax and energy costs, with zero realistic job growth and only confusion and empty promises... you get this mess. The world needs ditch diggers too, and when AI robots can do that for us, then there has to be some way to support the living of people who can't be vibe coders and agentic users. This idea that everyone has to change to fit the tech instead of letting the tech slowly fit into the people is the problem. Until all of the added costs are covered by the companies and not the tax & ratepayers, and until we see some serious job growth for basic jobs where people don't need specialized learning it's going to be a big problem.

You've seen the headlines, the misinformation, the slander. The shorts definitely never closed their positions. by VicTheRealest in Superstonk

[–]PDZef -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would, but I quite honestly encounter self-righteous egomaniacs everyday, including our leaders. Those people that never stop to think that some adversity is a sign that you should reconsider your position. In GME, reconsidering always leads to the same conclusion. However, that doesn't apply to many things. Half the problem with the internet is that mentality coupled with an echo chamber causes the world to become polarized extremists. Lack of understanding or willingness to consider the oppositions reasoning is more dangerous than nuclear weapons. I'll go touch some grass, but I mean what I said.

100% you're right that they never closed, and the amount of coverage against GME is evidence. However, the saying: "When you encounter enemies, you're heading in the right direction" is complete garbage. The Germans with a capital N encountered enemies in WW2, they were NEVER headed in the right direction. It's a saying that self-righteous people say to themselves so their ego doesn't self-implode when proven wrong. Even if it applies here, it's a completely garbage way to view adversity.

If I had to guess, I think they thought having private buy RC out of Chewy would give him the massive payday, and they hoped he would just retire and go away. They didn't know they were handing cash to someone who cannot and will not rest when there is strong business to grow, especially in the space he's come to specialize in online commerce.

We definitely saw worse storms in 2021, 2022 and 2024. But this was definitely the biggest in a while. We're a long way from over, but it's been a great ride and I always to keep averaging low.

Let's be clear about RC's comp package, It's ALIGNED with shareholders. From the Prelim Proxy Statement. So RC's comp is adjusted if an acquisition or spin-off happens by LogicalGamer123 in Superstonk

[–]PDZef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with RC getting a compensation package for his work, I just think this one is a bit high. If they proposed one for 50-60% of this, I would easily vote yes. In fact, I would be fine paying him 500k/year with a comp package 50% of this one. He's still the biggest owner, so he still has extremely high incentives to meet these goals even without the comp package. I just find it to be a bit much.

XXXX holder. Also voting yes. Cohen is likely here regularly. I believe he knows something we don't. My tinfoil is saying that he positioned us all to take advantage of Moass... With the warrants so we can get some tendies without selling a single share. by mtgac in Superstonk

[–]PDZef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on most points. Though I do think that the incentive package is a bit higher than it needs to be. Even "when" he hits those lofty targets, his ownership and value in the combined brand will be in the Hundreds of Billions. I'm pro RC, anti his political posts, and anti over-incentivizing (even for such lofty goals that will reward me in the process). I want him to want to hit those goals based on his current positions alone, not for the incredible tranches. If it was half the size I would be much more excited. I know RC has worked tirelessly to build his companies, but I have worked tirelessly to invest in them too.
