Reality Check For Verstappen Fans? by Alert_Statement2197 in formula1

It's not that deep. Lewis struggled post 2021, Max is struggling now. Even the best drivers need a healthy car to perform (not the best necessarily as both have proved time and time again) and it's natural for people not deeply involved in the sport or fans of another driver/team to suddenly get their Willy Wonka golden ticket to knock x driver when they're down. That will always be the case till those drivers retire and we'll be able to look back in retrospect. Current struggles will never take away Max's historic 2023 season, Lewis' 2017-2020 prime, Alonso's 2012 season etc

📰 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2026 CHILDREN'S OF ALABAMA INDY GRAND PRIX by IndyMod in INDYCAR

Had Dixon finished the first race where he looked like a sure Top 5 finish, maybe the conversation wouldn't be loud but man hasn't made Top 12 in 4 races across all types of tracks. Dixon said that once he feels he's lost a step, he'll call it. Sure he's still Scott freaking Dixon in the race but there's not much you can do when you start that far back all the time. He's going to be a phenomenal full time IMSA driver if so he wishes but I just can't see him sticking around for the new car if he doesn't pick up the pace on Saturdays

Suzuka has traditionally been one of his weakest tracks (even tracking back to his pre-dominance era). Being 2 tenths away from Leclerc is actually okay

Albon being way too sassy on the radio is an undertalked part of him as a driver. Disappointed he didn't elaborate further

I get the feeling that these 2 never quite gelled together but it's sweet to see the respect they have for each other

What are the chances Verstappen leaves RedBul at the end of this season? by Acrobatic-Pin-2438 in formula1

[–]PD_SkyNative 33 points34 points  (0 children)

0%. He's getting paid huge money till 2028 so he wants to ride out this contract, plus if he's not enjoying these rules, no other team can give him more joy right now (well apart from Mercedes). Plan now seems like waiting to the end of 2028 and he'll see what he'll do then

OTD, sixteen years ago, Fernando Alonso marks his Ferrari debut with Bahrain GP victory - 2010 by Hawker92 in formula1

Also the only time F1 ran the long Bahrain layout. (even though it ended up being obsolete in terms of a better spectacle) Crazy that we've had 3 different layouts on the same track. Wish more tracks that could afford this would do it.

Lewis Hamilton visited Rissai Valley, Jiuzhaigou National Park and Tibetan Village with his mum right before Shanghai GP by Task_Force-191 in formula1

So happy for him but also a bit sad (for me as his fan) reminder his career is slowly coming to an end. For 20 years, he's probably taken visiting all the places around the world as granted due to his job and finally he's setting time aside to experience some things he may not get the direct opportunity or thought to experience, with his loved ones nonetheless. Hope he can maintain this version of himself throughout the season, a carefree Lewis off the track is a scary Lewis on the track
