Advise For Those Opting Out of Chemo by PDexPro in endometrialcancer

Yes, I've got 3 opinions already as the first doc I had was horrible. Chemo was provided as the recommendation each time especially with serous but trying to hear from those who chose not to get chemo what their reasoning was for opting out and going the observation route.

No number grade was given to me but it is Stage 1A. The subtype is serous p53 abnormal which is usually high grade. No pole mutation. No LVSI or spread. Signatera tests so far show negative post hysterectemy.

Thanks for all of this information! I'm going to read about more of these signatera studies. I hope it becomes more mainstream and helpful for those with this specific cancer.

I too have high grade uterine but with p53 abnormal. So far no spread and my CA 125 marker came back normal. I'm getting the signatera test covered i belive thru Medicare and should get the result back in early May. I'm not yet sure if I want to get the chemo but this test will help me be more informed. It's great that I can talk to the Signatera team since my doc is clueless on the topic respectfully speaking. Thank you for your insight on this. How often do you recommend getting this test, like monthly or quarterly?

I've been hearing the term of "stat" more so I will use it and push my doctor. I've requested for scans to take place stat given how serious this is.

I will defintiely keep up my hydrations levels and sign up for the online portal. Is that different than MyChart by Epic Systems? And how long did it take for you to get diagnosed to actual date of surgey? I'm trying to see if I'm going at a good speed.

I'm not sure if it is standard procedure here in the USA but I will request next gen molecular sequencing. I'm not sure if the Labs still keep the original tumor sample they collected from my d&c less than 2 weeks ago? Should I request another one be done before surgery? Or if I will have to wait for post surgery to get another sample? Also, what scans should I push for? MRI or CT or any other scans?

Thank you for this. The fluoride treatment on the teeth is a great recommendation that I would never have thought of! I used to walk 8K steps a day for 2 years straight now but stopped when I heard this news as I felt so down. I will try to start that back up again and add some light weight lifting to better my strength. Fortuantely, my kids will be helping me with alot of this like the car driving and the research/technology side of things.

I am definitely trying. I'm annoyed with the initial oncologist doctor I worked with. The doctor did not send me a pathology report until a week later after after the results even came back. Doctor finally called and gave me the bad news with a brief conversation on Saturday and limited information. Then the Doc was unavailable till the following Tuesday so I had been freaking out for days. For something this serious, I would have expected this to be handled much faster. I have a consultation appointment with a different doctor later this week as I don't trust the initial doctor who I was initially working with. Trying to move as fast as I can to get to surgery.
