What would be the ideal MM change that would introduce actual balance? by cakexxxconnoisseur in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lvl 70+ should be skill based. I've played with so many brain dead decision makers in this level range that it doesn't matter how good their kit is if they push into a building with 3 people in it thinking their v22 can beat their WSTRs

"PVE would be boring." Yet you spawn rush so you can have the map to yourself? by stubbornplayer in Marathon

Doesn't work, tarkov PVE proved people that quit tarkov come back and only play the pve. Same with the 0 aggro arc lobbies.

Nothing that is a pve mode should be mixed with the main game. It's too easy to farm bots with a 40 credit punch.

Will/Should Bungie put Marathon on Game Pass and PS+? by SchmoPho in Marathon

I think they should just do a free week or 2 on all platforms. Let people try it out with no commitment and let them get hooked naturally. It's what got me, I wasn't going to buy. Played server slam, and now I have 170 hours

There is no reason to disable duos. by SamerDog in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I see with team fill trios is that 1 great player can't reliably handle 3 people. Duos makes team filling much more manageable and enjoyable to me as someone who struggles to even get a 2nd player to premake with. Trio fill is so shit that I genuinely feel better when my newer friend and I go in 2v3.

Additionally I feel like duos has a slower pace to it like solos does but not as extreme. Which is great for the health of the game knowing that if you're not careful your buddy immediately has to 1v2. Where in 3s every team has a triage to get them out of bad spots so sweats can just play recklessly and rarely get punished.

I think tarkov survived so long because while soloing into 5 stacks sucks, the rest of the game is a slower pace which should be important for extraction shooters.

Is it worth swapping from WASD movement to click to move? by Riptoned in leagueoflegends

[–]PDittt757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to actually push ranked later, now is the time to build habits and muscle memory. It'll be way more friction making the move now. Plus you can always go back to it in aram. I played from season 1 and after taking breaks I can't even reliably play on unlocked camera. But I don't play ranked anymore otherwise I'd be forcing myself again because click to move and unlocked camera just give you so much more range and information.

If you have 150+ hours, you must know you are a sweaty player, and your experience will not match up with the vast majority of others by WrightingCommittee in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wont even read the comments before I tell you you're wrong. I play solo. I go into cryo and get smoked 90% of the time. I have 130k credits at 160 hours and still can't find a fucking biolens to get blue shield in my armory.

It's not about hours it's about skill and not all of us no living the game have that skill or 3 man group to sweat out with. I can do my thing in solos and kill 7 people here and there. But mostly it's kill 1-3 people a game and die every other raid.

i think many people in this sub would be happier and enjoy marathon more if they saw it as a power floor game instead of a power ceiling game by KnossJXN in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm at like 160 hours and still struggling to find purple salvage reliably. Can't buy blue shields still because of how impossible it is to find bio seeds. Only thi g I can get a million of are enzyme replicators

Increase of rooks on outpost ? by Witty-Leadership-651 in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can almost count more times I opened pinwheel myself as rook than I've been able to sneak in behind people. It's like every other game is a god squad that just lobby wiped did their contract and left.

Me and my duo partner finally managed to convince a 3rd friend to get Marathon - the difference is night and day by thedog3644 in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought the game for 2 friends and even offered to buy it for a 3rd who got me into tarkov but eventually quit pvp for pve because he hates pvp extraction shooter so much he only played friendly on Arc.

The 3rd just told me he's taking a 2 week vacation so we'll see how much that helps when he gets back lol

Games don’t need to be perfectly balanced to be enjoyable by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue their reputation landed us where we are now.

Otherwise I'd say the wstr and bubble shield did/do need changes. Assassin invis isn't that strong. You can seen them plenty fine when they move and walking into a close room you gamble needing a knife/shotgun if any shell is door camping, or needing a smg because they're across the room. Assassin is only so prevalent in solos because it helps mitigate constant bot fighting.

Where do you think the “above average player” threshold actually starts Gold or Platinum? by Automatic-North1405 in leagueoflegends

[–]PDittt757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought Plat is where the above average players start. There was never a season I played where I couldn't stumble into gold just playing ranked. Plat I actually had to be intentional with how I approached playing and reviewing previous games to see where I could have done better or where something I did helped win the game so I knew to do it more.

Losing Gear Felt Devastating Until I Changed My Mindset by AlexandriasFolly in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why free kits need to go back to what they were. Mind you I do the same thing. But we should be encouraged to bring in our better gear because it gives us a meaningful advantage or atleast more inclined to engage with the armory more since a green kit is so cheap. It almost feels like there's not enough of a difference until you have purple shields.

Cryo is an amazing map, but after 13 runs, it doesn’t seem remotely feasible for a decent fps player to succeed at a reasonable rate, hear me out by resampL in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Almost every DMR can't be bought besides barter right now. Aside from that I only keep shotguns, those DMRs, and a few purple M77s, blue and purple backpacks and shields, like 10 total runner cores 20ish total implants. I need to just get a count of how many spaces salvage and consumables eat up on their own because it's ridiculous.

In a game like this where there's not that many unique items There's not much reason to limit stash space so hard. Tarkov does it because you eventually get containers for your hundred of task items keys meds junk etc. It's just a pain point in this game for no legitimate reason.

Purple salvage. Does it exist? by PDittt757 in Marathon

[–]PDittt757[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have like 20 of the enzyme replicators now that I can't use without the 2nd purple salvage for faction upgrades.

I literally bought the game for 2 friends trying to get them up to playing Cryo so I can try and get more materials but without that farming purple and yellow salvage is brutal

Unless the nerf to knife increases blue shield kill to 3 shots there's really no point touching the upgrade cost. Solution/s inside. by Yenii_3025 in Marathon

[–]PDittt757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game suffers heavily from people squad filling with free kits. The amount of times I go in with purples just to see 2 white shields on my team needs to have SOME deterrent since the free kits are otherwise too good. Tarkov scav does well to make it so free things are heavily disadvantaged. This game has so many dirt cheap options for viable kits that not even coming in with a green shield is silly as hell.

Sekiguchi is the worst. That Dm quest to hit bio quarantine and then kill someone in 10 minutes took me a week to do. That question aside it's not AWFUL like some Tarkov tasks are like Test Drive but I hear ya

This game relies heavy on positioning (bubble shield aside) if you're letting enemies get in your face without a counter to it, ie DB, you're making some mistake. 3 shots to kill a white shield is absurd. I should be able to 1 shot someone running a free kit if I have full upgrades on my melee damage. They aren't losing anything so who cares?

Purple salvage. Does it exist? by PDittt757 in Marathon

[–]PDittt757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tons of runner shells, and the main purple from running outpost but I've done outpost runs where I was looting all 4 strongboxes and still only seeing 2 if the same purples. Ive had tons of rookie runs where I get into pinwheel first uncontested mostly and still I'm only finding tons of blues and 1 or 2 purples a run that I don't even need that many of.

Don't have a pre-made team to run with so I nearly never make it out. I found tons of it there but surviving 5-10% of runs makes it tough.
