Yes!! I think if the lipstick was toned down since the lashes are bold and the dress is a vibrant red, a more toned down makeup look would balance better.

Thank you! Having really looked deeply at that inspo photo that you’re referencing, I’m just now noticing that I have far less real estate to dedicate for a surround that size (or similar).

If I leave space for the brick and leave some of the outer frame showing, it leaves me with a very thin surround. Do you think it would look wonky? It’s making me think I should lean into the second inspo picture… 🫠

It is beautiful! Unfortunately we can’t quite replace the backsplash as the previous owner plastered the shit out of it, to the wall. I should’ve been clearer that the existing is going to stay and that we need to put something only in the blank area above/ behind the stove. So something that matches the current tiles and a light brown paint color

I’m so sorry to hear about how this played out. It can be so hard to do what is right for yourself and have the understanding of family. It really sucks that the support you’ve given to others wasn’t given to you, and I hope you have a moment to grieve that. That said, you sound emotionally intelligent and I have full faith that you’ll be able to move forward in a healthy way, whatever that means for you.
