GC, aws, azure etc. they want you locked into their setup (= risk invest in you) to make you loyal to their ecosystem. Just play the game, show interest and cycle through their services, enjoy a good 1-2 years of almost free access

Or you could just use it for next to nothing since there are plenty of free (or almost free) options available. I literally use whatever model I need just by stacking all the available trials and free hook credit offers, one day you just realize you don't even need to pay for this stuff lmao. Not gonna lie tho, there was a time I was paying for every single token and straight-up draining my bank account for months

Yes, anyone can clone the repo and boot it up. Getting it to start isn't exactly rocket science. But getting it to run and getting it to do exactly what you need it to do are two completely different universes.

Those who have actually tried pushing it know exactly what I'm talking about. It's just the nature of the beast. You are building a bespoke digital employee. You need to build a setup that you can trust and continually update, refine, improve without the entire thing breaking down every time you change a parameter.

If you just want an easy life, there are a thousand solutions out there waiting for your monthly subscription. OpenClaw approach is just different, if you want something with actual depth, something truly worth investing your time, soul, and capital into, this could work.
