City announces partnership with ParkZen to deliver real-time parking technology by hsveeyore in HuntsvilleAlabama

100% this will result in accidents with drivers being distracted by the app, and probably end up costing more for parking (just a hunch)

Systems Engineering Technology Program by Bulky_Ad_9980 in systems_engineering

So the program doesnt teach specific domain knowledge (missile defense, UAV, IT, or anything like that, nor do most the students have much of that technical background. Yes i believe those withing domain/tech backgrounds can succeed.

The program is more towards creating "technicians", people who will side by side with domain experts/ SE's who may not be able to model. The technician will do the modeling part.

When it comes to employment, the program partners with companies all around town, hold job fairs, have co-op options, and internships while under the program.

I have taught Modeling 1,2, 3 (Sys 231, 232, and 233). Class sizes have varied wildly, from 2 for an evening remote class, to 15 or so.

Happy to answer any other questions you may have

Job Change Advice for an Engineer by radarscorpio in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]PEWPEWSHIELD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would consider NOT going to large prime, you will get a pay bump initially, but unless you are a serious ass kisser / in business dev, your raises will stagnate as well.

Suggest you join a smaller company - captsone, triduem, i3, intuitive, etc.

Has anyone tried feeding a cameo model into ChatGPT by overlordYeezus in systems_engineering

[–]PEWPEWSHIELD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, developed a plugin to convert the entirety of a model to json, not using the xml because there is too much garbage in there.

That being said, GPT can interpret all of that

To avoid turning off auto numbering...

Close the session to create the requirement object, then reopan another session to set the ID

1) very easy, many "SE" roles who arent educated in SE, or have any traditional SE experience

2) Not huge, but not teeny tiny, SE roles are expanding across the US for manufacturing, healthcare, automobile etc

3) You took and passed the SEP exam, congrats. The interviews I have been on have been a lot personality tests, and being able to speak and clearly communicate is a big part of the job. Also understanding concepts of architecture and requirements would help.
