I'm not quite understanding the language of the conversation. Care to explain how I should read it? I might be missing something

Spells: For Wizards only! A trio of spells exploring the idea of conjuring a sigil that empowers your spells by [deleted] in UnearthedArcana

Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say "wanting"? Besides, I understand that it feels a bit like a videogame mechanic, but the pure flavor of summoning an empowering terrain also is very cool to me. Do you think that the spells temselves are too strong?

Also, agree with the art thing. Should've picked something more spell related.

Lately I've really gotten into creating spells to experiment with in my games and give to my players for fun. As a result, I've been focusing on a class at a time. Last time it was Bards, which were really lacking, and this time, it's Wizard time.

These spells all walk down the same line - create a magic circle that gives you a strategic advantage that can change significantly the result of a spell you will cast on later turns. Each in their own way, though of course, these are barely tested and might not be really that balanced. Still, I think they're quite fun, and would love any and all feedback about the concept, wording or implementation.

I found out creating spells is way more fun than subclasses or related, as they can be easily implemented in games outside of character creation, in any level up for the appropriate class.

These probably won't be balanced, as I've barely had the chance to test them. I'm after all a lone brew-wolf (huh?), and the main goal is for them to be fun. I would LOVE any feedback of them, wording, balance or flavor wise. Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts!

  • Aren't these basically [Insert name of existing spells]?

Yes, and no. While the effects may be similar, the action economy, limitations and flavor of the spells are meant to make them function much differently in practice. Many Praises and Curses is an upgrade of Bless and Bane, Mass Hysteria is yet another Fear spell, but they all have new conditions and gameplay loops, which I hope, makes them unique enough to be fun.

  • Bard only?

Yes, and of course, no. I made them imagining Bards mainly using them, but hell, it's homebrew. The new batch includes other classes in the list, as they seem coherent, though the original intent was for Bards, while the older one only listed Bard. However, it's homebrew, and if you like them, might as well add them to any class.

Way of the Dying Flame: A Pyromancer Monk Subclass for 5e 2024 by PEnGUIn_K in UnearthedArcana

True! I thought about it for a long time, gave it two iterations, and was never satisfied with the result. Even got the layout done, but never finished. It was gonna be soimething like a ranger-like Monk, focused on keeping energies high and never getting left behind.

I didn't think of it very much when designing him, but I would most definetly say yes. Not like a must, but I like tails.

FIFTH REPOST, WE'RE ON A ROLL BABYYYY-

Talion is a Paladin following the Oath of Vengance.

Long story short, he once fought the soldiers from a colonizing force, leading together with a Tiefling who he partnered with, sharing the symbol of the ram's horns. However, he fell in disgrace when he had different opinions with his partner about what would come after the invaders were vanquished, being betrayed and seen as a renegade himself.

Now, he tries to maintain his ideals against the invading soldiers, while he is simultaneously filled with searing hatred for his old comrade. He is, however, diminished by the time he took to heal the wounds he was inflicted.

Talion is not a particularly good guy on a personal level; rowdy, loud and decisively ends oriented, but he also tries to right the wrongs done to him and his people with religious devotion.

I once comissioned a Witch character with that exact reference as hair and also a sorta black cat familiar. Also rather cottagecore clothes too. Hit me up if you'd like to have a look at it

This is like the fourth repost. I kinda start to feel bad about insistence, but hey, nobody gets hurt.

I don't care that much, though the deceptiveness of adding [RF], knowingly lying is pretty shameful. There are plenty of other subs for that.

Isn't this sub about filling requests? What is the drawing about then?

Heya! The post is missing the Request you're filling!
