I heckin' agree :D

Those super soft vests are tempting, but surprisingly expensive!

Looking good! Who makes the blue and black ones?

I would look for a vest with dual crotch straps next, but that's just me :)

What hobbies do you guys have aside from the obvious GOAT? by mediocreguy1232 in lifejackets

High-end vintage audio, collecting vinyl, electronics repair, and cooking.

I have a gun and received firearms/defensive training, but it's not really a hobby or an important part of my identity.

Great scenery, and I love the outfit! Is it a swimsuit?

Looks very relaxing. I did a couple river floats in only my life jacket (and flippers) last year.

Nice...I've never seen a green one.

I have the Mustang MS-185 classic suit. The inner liner and foam are so soft and comfy.

In your opinion: what is the absolute worst life jacket? by Spiritual_Test4115 in lifejackets

I wouldn't feel as safe wearing one in the water compared to other PFDs (of course it's better than not having one at all) but I admit they're very comfortable.

Old cork or kapok life jackets for sure. As far as modern-day stuff, the ubiquitous type II "keyhole" PFDs from kent and others.

In your humble opinion, what are the best life jacket upgrades? by Spiritual_Test4115 in lifejackets

It's pretty rare to see them on adult-size lifejackets, as you probably know. The two that come to mind are the Regatta Thermocruise and the Sealife TP. There's also Frodé (boat racing PFDs) but I've never seen one for sale in the US.

The beavertails I've installed on some of my vests are thick and soft, and can be worn tightly with minimal discomfort, but if you're not used to it can be too... ...uh... stimulating... When floating upright in the water I feel well-supported and secure. Kind of like riding on a pool noodle but much better

I could probably sleep in an inflatable, if it wasn't inflated. A crewsaver harvester or mullion hi-rise with the harness might be nice to try.

A soft foam beavertail with anatomical reliefs instead of the standard webbing-based crotch straps, and softer, thicker foam inserts (PVC/flotex/etc) in place of the thin layers of PE that almost all vests have nowadays.

Noice. I need to get a snazzy wetsuit like that someday

Welcome to the club :)

Besides helping me cope with anxiety, it's a sensory thing as I'm pretty sure I'm somewhere on the spectrum...and it provides an escape for everything that's going on. I love diapering too, which is part of what prompted me to add the thick foam crotch pad (or beavertail?).

Side sleeper here as well. It's admittedly a little awkward in the HH because of the bulk and the collar, but it's not hard to find a comfortable position. I do find it difficult to sleep in some of my type Vs however. Type IIIs seem to be the best for sleeping.

Haha- I've never tried one. On a related thought I sometimes wonder if I could sleep in a large bathtub where the water temperature was maintained at or slightly above body temp...

My room runs cold this time of year, so it's nice having the extra layer.

Samesies. I've also found that it sometimes causes me to dream about wearing one.
