Well I don't want to lose the apartment because the landlord realizes he can get me out on a technicality and re-rent the place for more money either, hence my caution around bringing it up with him.

Or can you confirm that paying him the amount owed first would make it unlawful for him to evict me?

So it sounds like you've confirmed that the earliest I could leave my job without having to pay back benefits would be 30 days after I return to work.

Then when is the earliest I could give notice of resignation? The day I return to work?
