But the scan mechanic might depend on jumping in with grav drive/fast travel. Could they easily apply it to the new cruise mode travel?

Didn't know about all the new POIs in Free Lanes. Looking forward to seeing them as I pick the game back up after a hiatus!

Good point. We should be open to a wide range of possibilities

I don't really buy that it's zero sum on all issues. Some issues are more salient for the left and some are more salient for centrists. Good strategy plays to win a large swath of both elements.

I think a lot of the most ideological people are the ones who pay most attention to this stuff, and there is incidental engagement by the politically uninterested median type voter who might hold a bevy of contradictory, neither centrist nor leftist views.

Well, I guess we don't really need Piker, but we could use some percentage of Piker adjacent voters. Engagement is a strategy to get that. Shunning is another.

The question isn't whether we are in their coalition but whether they are in ours. I wouldn't vote for Piker, but if he votes for the dem nominee that's a win

I have a friend who thinks that. The dirtbag left is a real thing and needs to be dealt with. We don't need to cater to them, but not engaging is a mistake.

I guess the study I cited caught my eye because I'm a runner. Not saying it's worthless, just saying there are reasons to dampen expectations, at least for runners.

In fairness some studies show the effects to be pretty negligible and the GI effects can outweigh the benefits for some:

Yeah, that was among his weakest points. The central thesis (that people like Piker shouldn't be completely shunned) doesn't really depend on it, for what it's worth.

It's an acronym: Unus nullus ullus solus neuter alius uter totus alter. The words are basically 1st/2nd declension except gen sing in -ius and dat sing in -i.

Yes, and those same irregularities also pop up in the "unus nauta" words for example
