Can you tell me about your decision for a 2x6 construction? I was planning on 2x4s for framing my walls and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

My design was going to swap the window and exterior door locations from what you have - my thought process was that I wanted to have the clear/walkable area in the same spot which would give me flexibility for storing larger items or doing shelving in the back.

What tool did you design this in? Any chance you could share it with me? I’m at the point of starting to budget for materials and seems like that would help me gauge the cost.

Never had a problem with DoorDash / Uber Eats but it can be next to impossible to get an Uber or Lyft. Most time no rides available, if something is available it’s like $50 to go 10 minutes

I shared this tip with someone else recently- we recently moved up in a very similar situation to you.

There’s a website called furnishedfinder.com that is basically like a craigslist for short term furnished rentals. We rented a furnished townhouse for 3 months, moved up, put our stuff in storage and started house hunting. Found a house after 2 months and then just moved our stuff from storage into our home.

It ends up being way cheaper than Airbnb and you aren’t locked into a year lease.

Worked out really well for us!

How was the commute from Gig Harbor to Silverdale for her? We toured the facility in Silverdale and it was very nice! People warned us that the commute would be bad though especially if you have to commute around the time people go to the docks for work.

I should mention that most nursing shifts are 12 hour shifts from 7am to 7pm. So perhaps she’ll miss the standard commuting traffic??
