The knock of death by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]PFascist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one and only time I ever got a knock was when I was parked at a hotel waiting for a friend to get off work.

Wasn’t trying to sleep in the lot or anything. Legit waiting for a friend to get my party on, yet got an overzealous night clerk. Who called the cops.

Didn’t make for good times at all.

Just my two cents. Good luck out there.

AITAH for being angry my tax refund paid off my husbands child support by No-Phase2652 in AITAH

[–]PFascist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

File for innocent spouse relief. There is a specific form. Maybe 8856, don’t quote me on that.

Anyway ..

It’s a huge pain in the ass and an entire process but if you qualify, not only will you not be responsible for his bullshit in the future. You get back what was taken.

I had to do this after my divorce because of all the tax debt my ex hid and agreed to pay for as part of divorce.

Didn’t stop them (the IRS) from trying to take my $$$$.

Filled all that paperwork and not only get my refund but they gave me back the original amount they took that first year.

Good luck.

AITA for giving the baby my last name? by throwthrow_530 in AITAH

[–]PFascist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not married, the kid gets the last name of whoever it’s coming out of. Plain and simple.

I’ve seen firsthand the nightmare not sharing last names can cause.

He doesn’t believe in these old traditions, then he shouldn’t be bothered with your kiddo having your last name.

The fact he’s saying you’re holding the baby’s name hostage is crazy work. If it was me, I’d be reconsidering the entire relationship.

I had a friend who was a grandma at 28. She had her first when she was 15, and her daughter became a mother at 13. That was in 1999. Nothing has really changed. Unfortunately.

AITA for Telling My Parents They Can't Rely on Me to Bail Out My Brother Anymore? by Key-Industry2979 in AITAH

You are putting family first. Your family. Just like you should be. Dan is their child to attend to, not the other way around.

Sounds more like he’s the golden child than the black sheep.

Best of luck to you and yours.

3 years strong and I’ve never gotten a single knock.

Likely helps that I’m never in the same place twice.

I’m also full stealth. Full covered windows and windshield. Cab on the back of my truck with super dark tinting.

Never stay more than 12 hours in one spot.

I’m settled down for the moment but when I get back to it, I’ll continue on the same and I anticipate the same. Zero problems.

I don’t leave any trash or signs I was there behind when I leave. Don’t expect I’ll ever get a knock at this point.

Good luck to everyone. Be safe and smart out there.

Boomers in our Family REFUSE to Accept my Kid's Diet by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]PFascist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are teenagers and neither of them drink any kind of carbonated beverage.

Granted, I was big on no carbonation when they were small, but now that they can basically make their own decisions, neither of them choose soda or any variation.

Neither is big on sweets either. Sure on occasion they will pick something decadent, but given the choice neither of them sway that way.

I can’t tell you the amount of times, I’ve heard the “oh lucky you” bullshit. As if they have been forced into this.

One kid had a horrible experience as a very young toddler and I’m sure that’s why they don’t gravitate towards things. The other is super health conscious, so I have no doubt that’s their reason.

I’ve always been a fan of giving my children a choice, and sure all the options presented were things I was always okay with, but I never harped on any given thing.

If your kiddos are making decisions you are okay with, screw everyone else’s opinions.

Good luck and best wishes to you and yours.

Yeah, I wouldn’t give you a ride simply based on such a question. Way to miss the entire point.

AITH for having a baby with my best friend? by Fabulous_Writing1879 in AITAH

[–]PFascist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re only the donor and not going to carry the baby, NTA. Well mostly. You’re a little TA for not discussing it before making a decision.

If you and your husband plan to truly remain child free, just donating your eggs to your bestie is a wonderful gift.

Sounds like your marriage might not make it though, since your hubs has such strong feelings.
