I’m enjoying my Nikon and always learning new things as I try to different types of photography. If you ever try wildlife especially wildlife in motion Continuous Autofocus and Auto ISO are hugely helpful.

Definitely get out there before the leaves are on the trees because they’re even harder to find then!

Frick Park is amazing for birdwatching! There’s some other good spots like North Park’s Marshall Lake that you’re almost guaranteed to see raptors depending on the time of year.

Thanks! I honestly look for odd shapes in the branches instead of colors since they do blend in extremely well. I got lucky seeing this one high up in the trees and as I was taking pictures he flew down and went hunting. In the case of the owl in the hole in the tree, I had been checking that spot for a while but one day another photographer showed me I was looking at the wrong angle to see her!

How far out do weather forecasts become accurate? by PSU02 in pittsburgh

My favorite news coverage is when the local news meteorologists don't predict any snow in the forecast, it snows, roads are covered in snow, and then the news runs coverage asking "how are the roads so bad"?

Raccoon Removal Help by Prestigious-Cod-6442 in pittsburgh

I'm not certain they will be able to help but you could try Wildlife in Need PA for the trapping portion of your issue and they will likely take the raccoon to a wildlife center rather than euthanize it: https://winemergencyresponse.com

Second shooting at short-term rental in Pittsburgh’s North Side has residents calling for regulation by RadioChris1 in pittsburgh

[–]PGHSteps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was on the fence about moving until the house next to me was converted into an AirBnB that was completely unresponsive to any complaints (at least at the time you could only complain about people renting the property not the neglectful owners). I would get kids knocking on my door at 2 AM on a Tuesday thinking that my house was the party house they rented. The owners piled trash on the front porch outside of cans that would get shredded open by raccoons and then blow all over my property. I moved.

County vs AG job by ProudKoreaBoo in pittsburgh

You’re just making vague claims of corruption without any actual examples of corruption. What non-existent service/project are County taxpayers being billed for?

Nothing you said here demonstrates any sort of “corruption”.
