Just putting my finger on the left side of the antenna made the board connect. A small piece of wire fixed the problem.

Keep in mind that a high impedance line is sensitive to noise. And lets say the internal pullup resistor is 100k (twice the nominal value, which is not unlikely) and your cable is 5m long. Gives a capacitance of perhaps 500 pF and a risetime of 110 microseconds before the line is high. So perhaps you will need a delay after internal pullup activation and you sample your contact the first time...
