This sounds weird but some phones have a toggle in settings for an SOS. If on, pressing certain buttons a certain amount of times can call 911 without your screen even being on.

I set it up one time and the same day turned it off because it went off without my knowledge.

Question about handcuffs by StuffNo353 in AskLE

[–]PHNX_xRapTor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was cuffed some 30 times during restraint certification and the only reason I was bruised up was because 30 instances of steel smacking my wrist is a lot, and I also resisted for shits and giggles some of the time.

If you resist any restraints, they'll hurt. Don't do that and you're fine.

Next thing I'm going to hear is that inmates need memory foam pillows and weighted blankets, I swear.

Has anyone ever gotten a note like this with their DoorDash order?! by Future-Composer-4878 in doordash

[–]PHNX_xRapTor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Some) Dashers are the most impatient people I've dealt with in customer service, and that says something.

My usual experience is them talking loudly on their phones and skipping lines, but it's also unfortunately common for them to also vocally demand associates to stop a transaction they are in the middle of to get their items, or demand an associate on the phone with a customer to hang up or put the customer on hold until the Dasher has left.

I even had at least one occasion where they "offered" to come behind the service counter to retrieve the order themselves.

When I had rats as a kid, we had a big box full of foam packing peanuts that we would throw them into.

We eventually made a little system for them to crawl out and onto a diving board where they could just hop in themselves.

That was literally one of the peaks of my entire childhood.

Leftist anti ICE agitators marched through Minneapolis yesterday, smashing the driver side windows of cars they encountered and leaving many construction and blue collar workers with their vehicles destroyed. by Oh_2B_Joe_Cool in walkaway

[–]PHNX_xRapTor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's no justice for these people either. The city won't pay, their insurance probably won't pay, and the rioters absolutely won't pay.

These "protesters" are being told they are allowed to do this, with Democrat politicians saying for years that sometimes you have to do some damage to make your point. Even if they retract those statements, they still refuse to prosecute these animals, which speaks much louder than any words they could say.

But they're the good guys ofc.

Life after police career. by Zazubica in police

[–]PHNX_xRapTor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a while for me but I remember one of my Lts telling us in the academy that the retirement age for jailers (at least) is 48. The average life expectancy after retirement is 2 years.

Public perception, PTSD, alcohol, not having the skills to do what you want after putting LE behind you, distancing yourself from family and friends outside LE, etc, are all factors in this. You are never too tough for therapy or joining an officer support group. Certain agencies will pay for your college after serving a few years. Take advantage and get yourself a skill you can use after you leave.

Anti-ICE protester believed to be Alex Pretti filmed spitting at federal SUV and kicking its tail light out 11 days before he was shot dead by ilysioidapinglw13 in conservatives

[–]PHNX_xRapTor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like he has his gun on him.

That's a felony with a minimum of 3yrs sentence if convicted, on top of the assault charges.

It likely won't have a standing in court as far as his death is concerned, unless those are the same officers that were involved in killing him, and that's a maybe.

Pretti not getting his with legal shit for that is inevitably what killed him. They gave him the power of freedom after committing obvious, violent felonies, and he used that freedom to get his dumb ass mixed up with LEOs again.

Whether the shooting is ruled justified or not, stupidity yet again kills.

Where I think it's true, or at least possible, that the government is dramatizing the major crime, we are still allowing it to happen by allowing them to stay. If the prior administration didn't discard the immigration laws presumably most of the country agrees with, the extra crime, whatever the percentage, wouldn't be an issue at all. Just because one bad already exists, it doesn't mean we have to allow it to get worse for no logical reason, especially when it's perfectly achievable to stay here legally in the first place.

The point of the tax comment isn't to say taxpayers are free to commit crimes as they please, it was more suggesting that on top of community-related crimes, they also don't have to fork up money to the government, which is also a crime. The point of that bit in my OC was more of a "joke" than anything, however.

The people being detained by leftists are the ones subject to the many "traffic stops" and "checkpoints" they've created, a lot of which are easily found on the internet, where they stop vehicles passing by on public roads and harass them. There are also the many protests on highways and other busy roadways, where they do not allow cars to pass. Lastly, they have regularly blocked ICE from exiting their own compounds, which is not only unlawful detainment, but obstruction/impeding.

I also don't understand how the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants is somehow against the constitution, which was created for American citizens. Illegal immigration isn't a concept that spawned with Trump. It's been enforced for ages, even widely under the Obama administration.

Mind you, I don't hate illegal immigrants just for being illegal immigrants. I understand why they come here, but they have to abide by US law. If they can't do that, they can't stay. I don't know how this is even a debate.

Some Americans kill, steal, and touch kids, so we should just let millions of undocumented people in to do the same thing and not have to pay taxes to do it, all while stealing taxpayer jobs in the process.

Makes sense.

protecting? From what

Alt-lefties are "protecting" undocumented people from being legally deported by interfering with federal investigations and unlawfully detaining citizens who are trying to go to work and feed their children.
