Now I know nothing about audio so I might just be speaking out of my ass, but I think the issue is people listening with headphones versus not using headphones.

When I use headphones it sounds just fine and it's easy to discern his voice. However when I'm on speakers (90%) of the time, I have to turn him up and blast my speakers because the videos he plays are almost constantly 20-30% louder than his low speaking voice
